Life Iz Pain.

Seller nick666demons brings us this Merauder zip up…

Pretty much the “usual” when it comes to design, but I think it’s pretty safe at this point that the Lonsdale rip logo is “the” Merauder design. You could make an argument for the mask shirt, but I think we see versions of this one far more often. Plus this may be the first time we’ve seen this one in zip up form. Off topic: that is a really funky bed spread.

Sweat It Out.

Our pal icegrillz05 has just upped a whole ton of auctions for us to show you, and if you’re an old school gym rat he’s pretty much got a whole wardrobe for you. There’s only one catch: he only has one pair of sweatpants to choose from, and they’re a size small…

…but as far as sweatshirts go, there’s a whole lot of variety. You’ve got your zip up…

…your hoodies….

…and of course, your crewnecks.

None of this helps you if you’re the type of HC kid turned gym rat who keeps things modern, and wears Adidas track suits and Nikes instead of sweats and Converse. While windbreakers have been done, HC bands haven’t started doing full blown track suits yet. I stress YET.

Livewire

A few years back, probably 5-6 years ago now (or was it more??), Livewire Records released a few label based merch items. The best item was obviously the zip up with embroidered letters. Our good friend xbestoneyetx has one up now. Unworn and minty. Love it, love it. Ed and crew only produced a small handful. If you can imagine, getting embroidered hoods is not cheap. So this one could be your last chance to pick one up especially in this condition. I have one, it’s great. Thanks to Casali. When they first dropped, I was being stingey and didn’t buy one. I kicked myself over that for a while. But Casali hooked me up. Big fan (of Casali, Ed and LWR).

GB Hoodie.

Joey C was the first person I ever knew who had one of the Gorilla Biscuits zip ups like the one that poopzx is selling, well before they were remade for the reunions. I actually have a funny picture of him dozed off in Joe Shumsky’s living room during one of the shows they used to have in their basement. This was probably midway in Joey’s quest for gains. But even if it had been at his skinniest, I don’t think Joey would have been fitting into a youth large…

Isn’t “men’s youth large” a contradiction in terms?

I Take It Back.

Now that I have seen this zip up hoodie for sale from xloganx879, I retract my statement that I am completely over band zip up’s other than Helmet’s.

One word: HARD.

A Contribution Not Left Unnoticed.

I’ve never been that big on the band zip up. You know, with the whole zipper splitting the band name thing? I was cool with American Nightmare’s (which I think may have actually been the one that kicked off the trend), because it just went the initials route, and because at the time it seemed fresh. But since then, it’s just been driven into the ground for me. But huffalospringfield has got a non-core one that’s to good to go unsung, and like he says in the description, it’s one you’ll be stoked for…

Sewn on collegiate letters? That’s a total step up. But then, it’s Helmet. They go big, as anyone who has heard the riffs on Meantime knows.

American Nightmare & Shop Shogun

Some people are still living in a fantasy land when it comes to American Nightmare merch.

For instance, take sparksmemphis. With 5 hours to go, this hood is at $1 with “reserve not met” (obviously). BUT he also has a buy it now of $140.

$140? What does he think this is, 2004?

Here’s a more reasonable auction from seller bytor2112. But the starting bid of $40 might be a little too steep in 2010.

Don’t get me wrong, I love original gear. But when you can click over to shop shogun and pick up the following BRAND NEW, it makes it hard to justify any other purchase.

So go hit up shop shogun and check out their full lineup of American Nightmare gear. You won’t regret it.

Where’s The Beef?

I think this person is living in the past.

$120 BIN for a used hood that has recently been reproduced?

No way, not going to happen.

I would guess they didn’t even know shop shogun reproduced these. Judging by their other auctions, they seem slightly out of the core loop. If there were in the loop, they’d realize shop shogun wasn’t making a “crappy cheap mom, and pop store reprint.”

If you wan the OG hood, click the images below and bid, bid, bid. If you are happy with a reprint, head over to shop shogun and grab a hood. It says “limited time only” and these have been up for 2-3 months now. I’m guessing that window is about to close.

Madball zipup

PSA – Id hate to see people pay big bucks for a new reprint like what happened with the Set It Off hoodies a few months back. This zip up is new and you can still order it if its your cup of tea at allinmerch.com
Enjoy and youre welcome.

Bane Zip Up Navy with White Stitched Letters

The zipped hooded sweatshirt. Some people love them, some people hate them.

I’m of a mixed opinion. I like a quality hood. Sometimes the zipped hood meets my needs. But sometimes, it gets all wrinkled up near the pockets, and that’s just not a good look.

I’m going out on a limb and saying Bane popularized this style. They weren’t the first band, but I think they were the first band to blow them up. That and the AN zip hood. The rest is history …

Now for this hood, the seller is claiming it’s the first zip hood Bane made. I’m calling him out on that. Not true. Seriously. Navy sucks. The first Bane hood was a black one with stitched letters. Black, not navy.

But it’s cool, still a dope hood.
