BANE ALI VS. FRAIZER

So this mark the tenth anniversary of one my favorite hardcore albums of all time. Give Blood came out on Halloween of 2001, it the wake of 9-11. I remember going to see the New York record release show with Sick of It All at the Knitting Factory. This year Triple B will release this record on vinyl for the first time in ten years. The shirt that fightback is selling is also ten years old, maybe nine ask Murphy I’m sure he knows. There were two versions of this shirt made the colors on the back were different. The funny part is the misspelling of Smokin Joe Fraziers name. I’m really psyched to see the new layout for the reissue. Check out Bane on tour this fall with Defeater.

It All Comes Down to This….Mr.T

This Bane shirt is pretty old. I own one of course and so does Murphy, but that doesn’t say much. This shirt may have had cool intentions, but obviously it did not translate well in the finish product. The Japanese Kamikaze pilot looks like Mr.T. It’s just so sad. sajidgy is the kind of seller I like. He decided that instead of being a hoarder he would share some of his t-shirts that he does not wear anymore. I think that is great. You might as well make someone else happy if you can’t be happy with shirts you don’t wear. Me I suck I have almost every Bane shirt (missing maybe 10). I never wear them I just list them on HYE. I probably wear the same two Bane shirts over and over. I will probably die having never enjoyed my Bane shirts, and my girlfriend will sell them all on EBAY.

Gangsters, Cowboys & Samurai…..BANE

squareandcompass is selling this rare Bane shirt from circa 99/00. This is one my favorite older Bane shirts, and the only reason I’m putting this up is because Murphy and I already own this. Now just so you know I don’t agree with the starting bid or the BIN. But I do understand that sometimes these things get out of hand.

Bane from 96 – 97

I think time has got the better of erikaratekid’s memory. She states that this tshirt is from “around 96,” but she is off by a year or two. Check her timeline, “The back story on this Bane shirt… my memory recalls that I was at a show at St. John’s Gym and Pete gave this shirt to me as a thank you for giving the band a bunch of photos I had taken so they could use them for the Holding This Moment 7″. I believe this is the first Bane shirt that I owned.” Thing is, the Holding This Moment EP didn’t come out until fall of 98. I know back then bands took a little longer pulling together albums, but certainly this album didn’t take two years. Likely, this shirt is from 97 or 98. And I suspect Erika actually owned a Bane SPAM shirt before she owned this one. Either way, this shirt is nearly 15 years old. I love that it’s size GIANT too. Remember when EVERYONE, even GIRLS wore size GIANT? Tre would probably have tucked this shirt in.

BANE “IRON EAGLE SHIRT”

derekwilliamxvx is selling a Bane shirt that Murphy refers to as “Iron Eagle”. The shirt was released in the early part of 2000 I want to say just after The Note came out. But I could be wrong. The design was done by Chris Delia. I had a chance to ask talk to him about himself and the shirt this is what he said.

Chris Delia is a Designer and Creative Director living in New Jersey. He is a Creative Director at Manhattan based design agency Builtbythefactory.com. Chris run’s his own freelance shop from imnotanaddict.com. “This is one of my favorite designs I created for Bane and was even more excited when I heard it would be part of their European tour following Give Blood.”

-cjd.

The shirt can also be found at MerchNow along with other great Bane merchandise. Be sure to check out Bane at Krazyfest 2011 and South by Southwest.

Bane Summer Tour 2000

Guess what? It’s still cold and windy here. Who’d have guessed. While we are sitting around shivering our asses off, epowerfitness is enjoying that Californian sunshine. Weak sauce. Send some of that this way, ok? Lets think about other sunnier times. Like the Bane Summer 2000 tour. Much sunnier and warmer than now. I believe this would have been the Bane / Adamantium / Death By Stereo tour. Great package, lots of fun gigs. Of course, the Hellfest gig was my favorite. Check for yourself.

This jacket is great. Has a hood, 1/4 zip, kangaroo pocket AND it stuffs down for easy carrying. You can’t beat that. Not a lot of these made either. Great look for when summer starts heading back our way.

Ending Soon – Bane 10th Anniversary Hood

Here’s a great Bane hood. No zipper deal, this is a Champion pull over hooded sweatshirt. These were released for the Bane 10th anniversary gig. And the seller has it right, not many of these were made. I think there may have been 2-3 boxes of them. Granted, that may sound like a lot. But consider this. These hoods were sold during a downstairs Palladium gig. That means every kid and their mother was there. Chances of finding a mint one still are very slim. I’m sure most others have been moshed out or skated through. I’m also guessing that poule518 is an old EVR employee. Or maybe the merch company that EVR regularly used back in 2007. Another funny note, I helped sell these hoods that day and while pulling them out of the box, I came across one hood that had no letters stuck to it. They fell right off when I picked it up. So the only thing separating it from a plain Champion hooded sweatshirt is the screen on the back shoulder. I’m a fan. Make sure to snag this one while it’s cheap. I’m contemplating picking it up as a back up, we’ll see.

Snapcase Tour 98

I remember seeing Snapcase on their 98 tour. I don’t recall the shirt that always_sleepy is selling though. It was a pretty good gig.

August 15 1998 @The Palladium Worcester Mass: AFI, Good Riddance, Snapcase

I don’t recall the specifics, but apparently I got in for free. I’m guessing it had something to do with Storch and Good Riddance, but again, not positive. And in the haze of my memory it was overshadowed by the show (Fest) the next day.

August 16 1998 @The Space Worcester Mass: Saves The Day, Barrit, Harvest, The Sheist, Bane

Just a great gig. Hard to compare otherwise. But you can snap up this tee which looks amazing for 12 years old. Is that an Iron Maiden font??

Jim Dandy

In Worcester, Mass, the home of Bane, there is a laundry mat called Jim Dandy. It’s on the corner of Denny St and Highland St (Rt 9). Oddly, it can’t be found on google maps without street view, but I promise you, it’s there. Fuck, I hate that place. Literally, the worst place ever. After I moved off campus, this was my go to spot for clean clothes. And it was the worst. During daylight hours, it was a haven to nice moms with noisy kids. During the night, it was a refuge for the crazies of Worcester. One time my girlfriend was getting money across the street at the ATM when a woman, likely very, VERY high, pulled down her pants and demanded money. Not my girlfriend’s pants, but the crazy persons own pants. It was one of those times when you wished you had one million rolls of quarters at home. Or your own washing machine, of course. To go during the day, you had to go between classes and put up with kids. To go at night, you had to brave the elements and the dude who walked around Worcester with a giant neck goiter. Or the other guy who wore a bike helmet 100% of the time — I never saw him once on a bike. I’m sure things have improved greatly over the last 5-6 years. I haven’t stepped into that spot in a long time, thankfully. Oh the good times …

whyzell has a story about Jim Dandy too. But his story relates to ANOTHER Jim Dandy. An individual from the West Coast. It’s an amusing read, check the auction. And snag a tee while you are at it …
