Big Guns: Outspoken

Oh man, sinkler100 is bringing out some big guns. I love these two Outspoken tees. One is classic and never looks bad. The other just hardly ever pops up. You never see the winter tour tee. And the belly print? “Classic” 90′s styling. My only beef is the shipping amount. $12.50 is outrageous.

Bar Harbor Vegetarian

Tonight I have reservations at a high end vegan restaurant … in Bar Harbor, Maine. Think about that. It’s about a 5 hour drive from the next closest “high end” vegan restaurant, which would be True Bistro in Somerville, Mass. Then again, it’s only 2.5 hours from Canada. And that’d be the boonies of Canada in New Brunswick. But this town is full of great vegan eats. Into that.

This spot is called Eden and is named after the original town name. It’s been called Bar Harbor for nearly the last 100 years, though. Love this spot. It was originally right on the water, but that space was taken over for some MAJOR new property. Now it sits south of the town center, but only a block or two away. Big fan of their 100% vegan menu. I highly suggest the bog juice and the crab cakes. You can’t go wrong with the seitan either.

You wouldn’t get too many awkward glances anywhere in this town if you were wearing this Youth Of Today. I’m going to disagree with the seller, cuddlefest on the date though. He claims late 80s. I’m thinking this is more of an early 90s tee. I’d also be curious what the back print is. Love that he has a tag pic, but honestly, I’m more interested on what’s on the back. Shoot him an email, find out.

Justice Go Vegetarian BIN

As far as Hardcore vegan/vegetarian tshirts go, this one from Justice is hands down my favorite. Must be the giant back font in green. Or maybe it’s the LOC sleeve print, not sure. Either way, great tee. joooooom has this one up for a reasonable BIN price. We get asked about this one a lot so snatch it up. Also, look into some animal friendly oxyclean. This one needs it.

NO MORE! Love this longsleeve. So do a lot of other kids apparently. Enough people wanted them (and tried to make them on their own) that Rev reproduced them. You can pick up a shiny new one here. Or, if you like that old school feel, or maybe aren’t into the 3 legged cow, you could always grab the one from copiousamounts. It really is a good one. Go ahead, I know you want it. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone you are still vegetarian or vegan. Your secret is safe with us. I’m pretty positive that Rev Star is a pocket print … hard to tell from these pics though.

October 1st is World Vegetarian Day (I’m looking at you Japan!). That was 9 days ago. I celebrated by eating veg(etari)an meals all day … for the last 7000+ days (it’s not quite as funny the second time). How many of you “observed” this occasion? I know a lot of you dudes were once veg, but I’m also guessing there is a new crop of young vegmin out there. Raise your hand if you support the vegetarian or vegan straight edge! Plus, snag this Justice tee from goodxgoodxthings while you are at it.

Smorgasbord – SXE Longsleeve

A Smorgasbord Records longsleeve.

You don’t see a lot of these on ebay anymore.

Hell, you don’t EVER see any in this condition. Most have super cracked fronts and back, ink chipping off everywhere. This one looks minty fresh. But it’s OG, fear not.

Actually, who am I talking to? No one is vegetarian anymore, let along straight edge AND vegetarian. I know some people go by the rule, “I’M NOT sxe or vegan but EARTH CRISIS IS sxe and vegan. That’s their thing, not MY thing.” But that’s not how I roll. Back when I was not straight edge, I refused to buy any gear that proclaimed “Straight Edge.” To me, maybe it’s those particular labels because I definitely don’t see any issue with rocking an ironic Have Heart pot leaf tee (if I owned one, that is).

I’ve been thinking about it some more, and my list of vegan sxe friends is actually larger than I recall. Lets run through it again: Pete, Cushman, Dalbec, Tre, Klint, Raio, The Wrenns, Mike Alert, … Damn, that’s almost forcing me to use my toes to count em all.

I can probably scoop this one up for cheap since no one is both straight edge and veg anymore. I hope the reserve isn’t too high.

Youth Of Today – Go Veg Tee

There’s been a lot of talk about this particular tee on the B9 board. I know some kid was contemplating booting this particular shirt. Not sure how I feel about that, especially with the big rev logo on the back.

I don’t think Jordan would be impressed. He would be impressed if you picked up a real one though. Or maybe he could reprint it. I’d be into that.

I like the green ink. I’m a fan.

Found – Youth Of Today Go Vegetarian Tee

Earlier this week, we asked if anyone was looking for any particular hard to find tees. Someone commented they were looking for a Youth Of Today “Go Vegetarian” tee. Now, while this shirt may not be the most difficult to track down, it certainly comes in enough variations that tracking down every single one would be difficult. So here I’ll present to you just two varieties of very non-standard Go Vegetarian designs.

Let’s start with what appears to be a regular Go Vegetarian short sleeve.

Pretty straight forward until you glance at the back. This I haven’t seen very often. At least not recently.

And this definitely isn’t a “new” test printing shirt. I’d say, judging by the shirt tag, it goes back quite a few years. Unless someone went out of their way to screen these logos on a vintage shirt, of course.

Next up is this dope long sleeve. Again, it appears to be a pretty normal Revelation Records long sleeve, until you really look into it. Rev star on the front pocket and a great sleeve print “GO VEGETARIAN.”

On the back, we see a flying Ray Cappo and the ever awesome “NO MORE” logo. Just a great tee.

This long sleeve also features a matching, older style Murina tag. Very cool.

So there you have it. Ask, and it can be found. Now if the guy who asks wants to make an offer, he knows where to find me! And if you don’t feel like dealing with me, well, there’s always ebay.
