Calling All Vegan Warriors

I’m sure Chip could give us the full breakdown of this Earth Crisis tour shirt. I can’t tell you the exact year, but I can tell you it’s mid 90s. How do I know this? Why, check the locations of some of those gigs. Pretty sure one of those listed in August is in Josh Grabelle’s basement. He was the guy who started Trustkill Records out of his dorm room in 1993. Not too shabby. And now he heads up Bullet Tooth Records. Again, not too shabby. But this shirt is for all you vegan warriors. Snag it from xdrugfreepridex, and wear it with pride.

ps. Go vegan.

Earth Crisis 315

We just wrapped up some crappy weather in the Northeast. Last night, it was raining with thunder and lightning. It sucked. The ice was crap, and dog walking was a pain. Granted, it was nothing like the Blizzard of 1978 which coincidentally was 33 years ago today. Intense. Also intense? A firestorm from Earth Crisis. You may not have to do as much shoveling, though. Grab this hood from xdrugfreepridex.

The Discipline

In 1997, I had a terrible skater cut. There wasn’t a big hardcore punk contingent at my high school (mostly my older brother and me, actually) so most of my time was hanging out with the skaters. Granted, most were burner stoners, while I was honor roll nerd. It was an interesting mix. Especially since I sucked at skating, and most of them used their skateboards solely to get to the store to buy cigarettes. At one point, I started hanging with these younger dudes. They were all about hardcore, and helped open my eyes a little further — spirit of youth, I suppose. I rolled over to one of their houses in May of 97, and Ben D buzzed my head in his front yard. No attachment. I then spent the rest of the afternoon hanging and jumping on a trampoline — perfecting my stage dives, obviously. To this day, I’ll never forget Ben’s tshirt. He was rocking this Earth Crisis longsleeve. No, he wasn’t straight edge, but he had passion. Great dude. Shannon RIP.

** loadofhogwash is an appropriate sellername based on the BIN price of this tee. Jeesh. No thanks.

Earth Crisis

Not a bad looking Earth Crisis tee. No bulldogs present due to it being from a reunion gig a few eyars back and not from the 90s although you might be fooled by the color choice of the tee. A good choice for anyone who hasnt broken their vegan edge. Dunkleman40 coming through with this auction.

YOT – Go Vegetarian

NO MORE! Love this longsleeve. So do a lot of other kids apparently. Enough people wanted them (and tried to make them on their own) that Rev reproduced them. You can pick up a shiny new one here. Or, if you like that old school feel, or maybe aren’t into the 3 legged cow, you could always grab the one from copiousamounts. It really is a good one. Go ahead, I know you want it. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone you are still vegetarian or vegan. Your secret is safe with us. I’m pretty positive that Rev Star is a pocket print … hard to tell from these pics though.

The Mosh Hat

Can we blame these hats on Earth Crisis? I just never understood their popularity. The hats sprung up around the militant vegan, edge movement, as I recall. Lots of puffy vests (artificial down, of course) and mosh hats. Given the hats actual military background, that can make sense. konnektmma brings up two samples. The first one is a straight edge hat. Sure, why not, makes sense. The second one is a MADBALL hat. Huh? I don’t think mosh hat when I think Madball. Maybe a new era hat, but not a mosh hat. Very odd. It’s too bad too, because I’ve always loved that script logo.

Quicksand, New York City

New York City is cool. Red Bamboo, VP2, Lula’s Sweet, Candle79, … so many vegan eats all within walking distance. Here’s my game plan for a Saturday trip to the city. Drive out in the morning. If I’m bringing Casali, we usually hit up the Nike outlets in CT. Get into the city, hit up VP2 for lunch. Then bust out, maybe grab a samosa from the vegan cart in Washington Sq Park. Hit up the various skate shops and sneaker shops on the lower east side. Give the middle finger to the Varvatos store. Use the restroom at the Whole Foods. Then it’s back to Red Bamboo for dinner. Waddle out, attempt to drive home without falling asleep. Parking, food and maybe a hat. Not an expensive day and totally worth it. Throw in some Quicksand, and I’m sold.

Make sure to peep all the auctions from xbestoneyetx. Some awesome ones. Dumb if you don’t snag that KMFDM longsleeve.

Born Against: Uncle Sam Vs Lady Liberty

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a legit Born Against tee. I feel like everyone was made in a living room or basement. Near a squat or after a freegan dumpster dive. But this shirt? This shirt from a27a looks legit. I’m mean, c’mon, it’s more than ONE color. Damn, Uncle Sam is a killer. Anyone have any more information on this one? I’d love to hear more.

Meat Is Murder

I’m off to the Boston Vegetarian Food Fest today. See you there? If I had planned in advance, this Smiths shirt from mysupernova would be the perfect look. Lots of hipsters up in that fest. None wear XL of course. Lots of “weak, skinny vegans” in the joint. It happens. I’m one of them. Should be a good time. I’ll report on any core spottings. I’m sure there’ll be plenty. We shall see. Moz approved.

Destroy The Machines

If you don’t have a fond spot for Earth Crisis in your heart, your heart is likely made up of veal and ground up horse hooves. Prepare to be firestormed. Nothing says Earth Crisis than the first LP. This was the LP of the day, nothing could touch it (granted, I’ve always preferred the first two EPs … insert joke about liking a band only during their demo stage …). This one got many spins, and royal-t21 has the matching tee for you.

I’m not sure what to say about this particular tshirt. It’s a reunion gig tee and it appears to have more to do with Masons than Vegans. Pretty weird. I’m sure jthm62 would appreciate your bid.

And for the Earth Crisis superfan, there is this great Path Of Resistance lot from vastarien. Pretty dope BIN price, don’t sleep.
