Well I’m not a Verbal Assault expert, but this is a cool shirt. I’m thinking its and older boot because its real worn, someone please chime in if they have some info on it! (older boot or Trial shirt?) Seller loseryouthcrew doesn’t have much info on the shirt and doesn’t post a picture of the tag. I was in Rhode Island a couple of weeks ago and I got some real good treats in Providence. This post is dedicated to Verbal Assault and cream cheese brownies.

A Trial For All Seasons

mrs-pants is giving you the chance to rock some Trial gear for every season of the year. First, you have the short sleeve which (unless it’s a reprint which I don’t think it is) is from the “Through The Darkest Days” era of the band. The cover of the record with the “Straight Edge Hardcore” banner…good look. You could wear this during the spring and summer.

Fall begins to creep in and it’s getting cooler out. Time to pull out the “Foundation” era longsleeve. Can you beat that New Age sleeveprint? Well, with a Rev sleeveprint but that’s not the issue right now. Straight Edge on the other sleeve plus NO wizard sleeves.

Well when winter is upon us (at least in Miami), you can pull out the old windbreaker which I’m assuming is from the “Are These Our Lives?” era. I know Equal Vision did windbreakers but I can’t remember if they threw their logo on them or not…pretty sure the Floorpunch windbreaker didn’t have it. Also, is it odd that the front print is on the right side as opposed to the traditional left pocket? Weird.

Trial Soccer (Football) Jersey

When all the bands in the 90s were making basketball jerseys, Trial turned around and went the opposite route and made a soccer (football) jersey. The Cabal guys made a very limited amount of the soccer jersey when they came across them at the Champion outlet but they really were the only ones I can recall making them (if you wanna see the Cabal jersey, Rob Fish wore it on the cover of the live 108 record “One Path For Me Through Destiny“). I think the band reprinted these when they got back together but without the back 43 backprint and Equal Vision sleeveprint. The band wasn’t too happy with EVR re-press of the record but that’s another story. xdrugfreepridex continues to kill it with the 90s merch so if you’re into that sort of thing, you might wanna add him to your favorite sellers list.

This Is Not A Trend

Trial has always been one of the most sincere hardcore bands. On the East Coast when they were active in 90s, I remember kids being into them but not how the West Coast was. They came down and played Miami in 1998 with Ensign and they were maybe 15 kids there. Fast forward 13 years and the band is bigger now then they were when they were back when the band was touring full time. Their set at Burning Fight was incredible with constant stage dives and over a thousand kids screaming along. This design that octoberust69 is selling is from the band’s first run in the 90s. A similar design would be printed when the band got back together but with a different photo on the back. I’m sure my dude Justin, co-conspirator on Stuck In The Past, could probably offer up a little more info on this design. Also, a quick note to current bands…more live photos on tshirts please.

Trial – Seattle Hooded Sweatshirt

You’ll notice something is missing from this Trial hood being sold by rulereporter64155. That’d be the string. And you know why? It’s because the string didn’t match. It was WHITE. A WHITE string on a BLACK hooded sweatshirt. It made no sense. Seriously. No sense. I stole one of these from Dalbec. He didn’t notice, of course. Actually, he had already moved out and left this buried under some stuff. Score one for me.

Morgado called it. We can’t pass up a vest. Everyone loves a sporty vest. Vests are great for showing off your muscles. Sadly, neither
xhonkytonkx or twigx666 refer to these basketball jerseys as vests. Sigh.

We’ve seen this Trial jersey up before. It didn’t get crazy like that Madball jersey did, but it wasn’t too shabby either.

Now, this Shutdown jersey… Can’t say we’ve seen one of these before (ok, someone use the search and prove me wrong). With all the One King Down love we’ve been seeing lately, it wouldn’t surprise me if this one jumped up too. We shall see, right?

Trial Loves One Off Jerseys

I swore we’ve seen a one off Trial jersey previously. And I was right. Question is, why did EVR feel the need to create so many one off Trial jerseys? Instead of a soccer jersey, this one is a basketball warm up jersey. Seattle Supersonics style. How much cooler is the phrase “Seattle Supersonics” compared to “Oklahoma City Thunder?” Ooooffff, Thunder. Double oooffff. Go ahead and grab this jersey from bombsquad206. Home town pride. Also, how is this Trial related??

Trial wind breaker

First up on this early Saturday morning is this Trial wind breaker from the reunion shows a few years back. I know that wind breakers are a thing of the past, but are any current bands selling them? I’m not going to count this Trial one, as I’m sure they made them in the 90′s.

The seller suggest that there are possibly 3 of these in total. They screened a few soccer jerseys during the making of Basketball Jerseys. Fuck, a Trial basketball jersey? Greg Bennick got ups, yo.

Looks damn thin to me. Soccer in style, dude.
