Southern California Straightedge

There was a time when Strife was one of the biggest and best straight edge bands (let alone hardcore bands in general) on the planet. They were pretty vocal about their beliefs and Victory mass marketed their merch with this being one of their most well known. The thing I thought was weird though, this never had any bulldogs on it. Weird. This design from electrichorror was pretty much in print till about 6-7 years ago…if kids are still buying it, keep it print I guess. Last straight edge design from the band if I remember correctly.

Truth Crew

This Strife tee was printed towards the end of the band’s initial run in the late 90s. This thing was washed a good amount of times leaving it with that concert black look. I’m assuming ragbagoriginals is a vintage seller based on the rest of their items for sale but unlike most others, they haven’t set some outrageous BIN or started it off very high. Curious to hear how the new record comes out…

Is This Our Destiny?

Of all the Strife designs that Victory made for them (and they made a lot), this was the most mass produced. 4 bulldogs on one arm and the Victory logo on the other (as was the norm of the era) so if you have an allergy to bulldogs, you might want to steer clear. This was printed up for the “Grey” 7 inch which was a preview of their LP “In This Defiance”. If I remember correctly, this was the only design the label printed for the 7 inch though the band did print a design the song “To An End” which was the B-side of the record. xdeadmanx took good care of this one. Pick this up and get ready for the band’s new LP coming soon.

There Is Only One Truth And That Is This BIN Is Too High

I think it’s pretty safe to say that munstermunson1 is aiming a little high with this one. I mean don’t get me wrong, I love Strife and I love a good collegiate font hoodie but that BIN is a little bit much. Did the seller piss on this thing? 4 bulldogs = oof.

A Strife For Every Season

It really seems like x614x has something for everyone. How about a Strife short sleeve, long sleeve and a hoodie? Sure, 2 of them were Victory prints but the first is their version of the Smorgasbord rip off. Not exactly a complete rip but still a good look. This was printed in at least 2 other colorways (White on black and yellow on navy) with the yellow on navy being my favorite.

The long sleeve is from “In This Defiance” and features artwork from the record. Looks like it was quickly thrown together by the label but I still dig it.

This was the design the label sold for years after the band broke up. No signs of a bulldog or the label name so those of you that suffer from Bulldogitus can rest easy.

I love the 90s hooded edition

These hoods from itshowmanytimes are really on some Chip Sem type shit but hes sleeping and I need something to post about :) At the time when Strife was really big I caught them a few times and it was a blast. I think the first time I saw them was at the Tune Inn in New Haven CT when they were filming some VHS for victory. Good gig. Lots of stagediving. I tried to revisit some of those records while writing this post and I cant hang anymore. Then again my musical tastes have probably just gotten grumpier over the years.

All I really know about the Path is that they have multiple singers and my friend Erik McGloin is lurinking on the cover in a window. I never got a chance to catch this band live. Infact I dont even know how much they actually played out. Was it a regular thing or just a sometimes deal?

A lot of people pick “In This Defiance” over “One Truth” when it comes to Strife. I am not one of those people…”One Truth” is and always will be my favorite Strife record. Being that they were on Victory Records, their merch was mass marketed and this “Grey” design from electrichorror is THE example. For some reason I can only recall this being printed on Navy and this Green…the shirt was printed seriously from 1996 til probably 2004. There had to be more color combinations…still a great look. The picture is cropped so you can’t see it but yes, there is a bulldog on the sleeve. I own both the navy and green so I won’t be bidding on this one but if you still dig Strife, have at it.

Where’re Your Dogs At?

No dogs up on this, and we like that. Granted, the sleeve print is a dead giveaway, but you know what? I can live with that. It’s not offensive to me. And given how crisp xdaytonx has kept this Strife hood, I have no room for complaints. Not even the lack of string can bring me down. Usually I forget to bid on items, but this time, I’m totally going to remember to bid on this one.

Strife New Age Records long sleeve

Now this is what a Strife shirt is supposed to look like. This baby has the 7″ artwork and plain and simple sleeve print. I love this one just for the fact it is pre Victory/bulldog. The only thing that would make this one any better would be the mention of the straight edge. I actually find it a little odd that it’s not on this shirt, particularly from this time period. Great shirt, and I expect to to do big things.
