Rip Off Tees.

A trio of rip off (or if you prefer, homage) tees from our friend Thomas to show you as his auctions wind down this week… first off, a classic pair done by Striking Distance, and no, the Skrewdriver rip off is not one of them…

…and then for a more recent vintage, we have Tear It Up’s Shark Attack rip from when the played as Shark Attack for a Halloween show in Philly in 2003. Oh to have been a fly on the wall (or a remora on the belly, if you prefer)…

I’m only posting this because it snowed last night…

…and I don’t want you to catch a cold. If you are an avid reader of this site, you surely know that I am not a huge fan of reproductions/bootlegs/represses/ Seller drewtilldeath1986 does have a pretty decent looking Straight Ahead crew neck up for sale however. Maybe it’s the 3-D colorway talking or the fact I’m on my second cup of coffee, but I don’t mind this one. I’m leaving out the back picture because I’m pretending that it doesn’t exist. It’s not terrible, but it’s way too much text.

Straight Ahead shirt

Here is a really really nice Straight Ahead shirt for sale by chrisgoblin. Here is what he knows…

“So about 15 years ago I was given a bunch of old HC shirts from a friend who was an old time enthusiast but was having a clear out. He used to visit the USA a fair bit ‘back in the day’ and had bought a bunch of stuff first hand at shows as well as trading/mail ordering stuff. This was obtained by him in the late 80′s but that’s as much of its history as I know. Over the years I’ve gotten rid of a bunch of the shirts myself but held on to a few just as ‘nice ones to have’. I’ve hardly ever worn this shirt in the time that I’ve had it (it’s a little snug on me!) and it’s spent most of it’s time at the bottom of a pile on my cupboard. Time to clear some stuff out myself….”

There you have it. I love the red on this one. Solid classic.

Straight Ahead ringer

Oh you thought I was done with the NYHC goodies for today did you? How about this Straight Ahead ringer for sale by newcopcar? Is that rare enough for you? This has the same tags as my Straight Ahead tour ringer and looks real deal to this guy. Straight Ahead ringers are the only ringers I can get behind! Check out this great description as well.

“You are bidding on an original STRAIGHT AHEAD t-shirt. The original ringer tee from ’87-’88! I would love to know exactly how many of these were made, and I’d be even more curious as to how many are still floating around out there. Incredible band; how is it that the NYC Mayhem stuff got reissued before the Straight Ahead stuff? I would STILL take these guys, especially live, over YOT. Just untouchable; Tommy Carroll is one of my favorite hardcore frontmen ever; up there with Bloodclot, Brannon and pre-sweatpants HR. I remember seeing them listed on some of the original ads for “The Way It Is” compilation and I can’t help but wonder how the history/legacy of the band would have played out if they were included on that comp instead of, say,Trip 6 (no disrespect to Trip 6, love them and still have the GTA discog). What if the Gorilla Biscuits 7″ had come out on Some/I RISK as originally planned and the Straight Ahead 12″ came out on Revelation? What if Tommy Carroll had never squared off with a pre-Merauder Sob at CBs? SO MANY QUESTIONS! “

NYC Mayhem! For Real?!

Seller ryandty2, he of the colossal selection of guitar picks, has got a real doozy to kick of our day this time: an NYC Mayhem tee!

Now the question you’re asking yourself is, of course: is this for real? I know how you feel. It’s sort of a tough call, since there are no real close ups other than one of the awesomely “bad” artwork. There’s definitely an old yellowed tag in there, but this thing just looks almost too clean to be 20+ years old. We’ve never had one turn up in our archives, so I’ve got nothing to compare to, but since is the same seller that was selling one of the first Cro-mags tees, along with numerous other old 80s tees, I’m gonna have to come down on the side of “for real”. Just to be safe, I consulted with Cooch, who concurs. You wouldn’t call Cooch a liar, would you?

Straight Ahead Sweatshirt.

Great looking one here from seller cdvll, and no, in this particular instance we do not care that it’s a bootleg, because it’s well made…

…and also because it has the lyrics to Straight Ahead the song on the back, which is a great touch. We saw one of these back in September, and iirc it went for a pretty penny. And since last time we posted an excerpt from the legendary Pete’s Sake reunion set, I thought we should up the ante this time and give you the whole thing:

KNOCK! DOWWWWN!

You Can Count On Me, Your Fellow Man

Take a minute to think about one of the greatest bands that ever lived. Watch this video then scroll to this … item from burningfight55.

Fuck, so good. As for this crewneck, the seller says he picked it up from a friend “out east” who did 30 of them. It’s obviously a bootleg (no need to state that but explicit wording is always appreciated). Oddly, I live “out east,” and I’ve never seen one before. And believe me, I would do a double take if I saw a Straight Ahead crewneck.

Don’t Forget Your Roots!

There is a long tradition of tweaking old shirt designs for modern bands. Have you ever seen the Gorilla Biscuits x Uniform Choice shirt? It’s a think of beauty. So like I was saying, this process has a very long, wonderful and sometimes shitty history. Luckily, in this post, you get the good side.

First up is a Straight Ahead tee from calebokhc. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt on his description. I think he just goofed the band names (but he really BLEW it on catching those key word matches, that’s for sure). You can’t really go wrong with this cover. Great look. Jay and the crew made a nice one here.

Then there is this Converge tee from huludicidalball. On this auction, I’m being less lenient. Dude did not even mention the This Is Boston Not LA comp. Didn’t even give a nod. That’s just sad. Hopefully the kid realizes where this graphic came from. If not, I worry for our future … Is there really a fest called “Fuck You Fest??”

some flyers…

I don’t know if you guys are really interested in these, but I keep posting things out of Duane Some’s collection. How about hand drawn originals of your favorite flyers? Yeah. Amazing. Please check out the other items he has for sale as well. There are way to many to post here. Check it…

A letter from Positive Peer Pressure to Supertouch!

This is the original hand drawing of this classic flyer.

I haven’t seen this one before but it is a hand drawn store flyer. “NO MORE”

Always remember “The edge never dies”

No clue why this was made except out of boredom. Still Ill.

I included this one because I like the way it looked. I love graff-style flyers.

Straight Ahead boot

Im gonna guess this boot is the same one I have. I picked it up in 1998 from Dennis from Fat City. He made about a dozen on Red and Green shirts and only in size L. He didnt make them for profit but just cause he wanted a Straight Ahead shirt. Its a good shirt to bum around and do chores in. Better to buy this boot than to get one from an Italian professional bootlegger.
