We’re at Sound And Fury right now. We’re having a blast, of course. Lots of great bands and plenty of great merch. We’ll try to get a wrap up post for the weekend, but make sure to follow us on twitter for the latest #merchreports. Get into it.
I’m lying. The title of this post should be Band (Members) I’m Looking Forward to Seeing at Sound And Fury 2011: Swamp Thing. No disrespect to Swamp Thing, but the upcoming hang session with Dan Horres outshines the show I’m sure Swamp Thing will put on. Like I said, no disrespect. Swamp Thing has been known to kill Sound And Fury. But Fucking Dan? C’mon, Fucking Dan. Besides, I’m more into G2 than Vitamin Water.

Well, everyone else is gonna be out in Cali for Sound and Fury the rest of the week, so minus some posts the guys set up before they left, you’re gonna be stuck with me for the duration. Sorry about that. I am also sorry about the crappy wave lines on the surfing Floorpunch dude I did for their Fast Times At Sound and Fury tanks/tees. Never been truly satisfied with those…
For the record, I do in fact need one of these, as I never got one. If anyone has a Large they wanna let go for cheap, feel free to comment.
Yeah, past tense. WAS looking forward to seeing at Sound And Fury. Sadly, Dead End Path had to drop off. It’s almost enough to make me cry. DEP brings it every time. Whether they are playing to a home town crowd, or an outdoor venue full of people who have never even heard of DEP. Doesn’t matter, they bring it. Plus, stellar crew to hang with. Funny guys, they will be missed at this event. Sigh. Go ahead and grab these tees from yup.yup.yup. It’ll make you feel better (but not really).
Soul Search is another one of those Cali bands I haven’t gotten around to see yet. Word on the street, they’re awesome. Sadly, they haven’t come this far north east, or I just missed their comings and goings. Go ahead and scoop one of these shirts from soulvice88. As much as I love Triple B, I gotta give it to the pocket tee logo. Pocket tee logos are better than in-between shoulder logos any day of the week. NOW, if you put the Triple B on the front, and the Soul Search graffiti moshing dude on the back … winner, winner, chicken dinner.
I know what you are thinking, “Cruel Hand? C’mon man, haven’t you seen them a million times?” It’s true. I have. But you know what? Every single gig they play is awesome. Every time they hit the stage, kids are having fun. Stage dives are bigger. Drum stick twirls are bigger. Everything is just a little larger. But I’ve never seen them play to non-home town crowd. That’s the test. The test they pass often on their busy touring schedule. It’ll be good to see kids I don’t know going off as hard as Mainers for Cruel Hand. Stoked. I may even snag this tank top from iamlmnop (or maybe I’ll snag that tank up on all in merch, hmmmm). Getting very psyched now for Sound And Fury. See you there?
By this time, my love of Joyce Manor should be apparent. I don’t know why, but that album has hooked me. So flipping good. I caught these dudes a few months back in Cambridge, Mass. It was awesome. Lots of hard swaying, hahah. Yeah, not exactly the mosh pit rulers but so damn good. But that was Cambridge. What will happen in California at Sound And Fury could be entirely different. This, I can’t wait for. One week away, hope you bought your tickets. It’s going to be dope. As for this tee from jediterror1979, it was being sold at the show I was at a few months back. Not old, they might still have them at SAF. Or grab merch from the band over on Hellfish if you can’t make the gig. It’s going to be dope.
savagelacix631 is saving up for Sound And Fury (Buy your tickets NOW. Quit sleeping). That’s admirable. I’ll give him daps when I see him there. Hopefully he’s wearing that AF tee, or I may not recognize him, having never met the fellow.
As for this Invasion shirt. I’m going to talk to Joey and Ray. See if we can get the whole SAF crew rocking these all weekend. That’s a look of class. I mean, just look at that LOC. SHARP.
Another tshirt in the never ending series of Know Your References. This shirt from Paint It Black was sold at Sound And Fury (not sure what year. Anyone know? Also, did you buy your tickets for this years fest yet? Get on it! Gonna be a banger). Solid look. Of course, it’s a Chain Of Strength design from years back. There are a few liberties with fonts and layout (and lack of Rev stars …), but you can easily make the reference. Feeling it?
barfight has a bunch more tees up now. Check them out as they all end tonight.
foolsregret is selling off some shirts in order to fund his trip from the UK to LA this summer. I can only assume it’s because he needs to get back to Sound And Fury 2011. At the rate of auctions he has up, he should make it with no issue. Check it. Love that Taz.
ps. I wanted to make a more hardcore like reference in the title, but “Gotta. Make It. To LA.” didn’t sound as catchy.
