I could be wrong here, but I think they had these shirts at Sound & Fury 08. I think I remember seeing them at the table that year, but my memory could be fuzzy on this one. Regardless of when and where it was sold it is a cool shirt. I thought there was something on the back, maybe something small, but xwarofwordsx doesn’t mention it.
I remember when I had to get a new car in 2009 and pretty much none of them had tape decks, I was so sad. My old car only had a tape deck and I just lived off tapes, getting a new car with a cd player was so freaky for me.
TAPES FOREVER!

Cruel Hand slime
Despite this Cruel Hand shirt coming from Sound & Fury 2007, I think it reminds me of Nickelodeon slime. Maybe xhaleyxxx thought the same thing and thats why she bought it.
Perfect shirt to wear to a taping of Figure it out!

Twitching Tongues double take
Well as you’re eating your lunch I will present two Twitching Tongues shirts to you. Now on top of the fact that there are two Twitching Tongues shirt these are two awesome rip off shirts. They are both being sold by slothstaysmental. The first one is a Sam Black Church rip off and was sold at Sound & Fury. I remember last year Garvey, Pete and I went out for my birthday and he was wearing this shirt. I wish I knew they had it at Sound & Fury the week before, I would have had him get me one. The next one is a Type O Negative design.
Floorpunch windbreaker
Well I don’t remember Floorpunch having a windbreaker at their recent shows, but they had so much merch that it would be easy to forget everything they had. I’m assuming this is from the last couple of years, but the pictures are so crappy its hard to really tell anything about it. There is no back pictured, but if I had to take a guess it would say “FLOORPUNCH STRAIGHT EDGE” on it in white possibly. I have a shirt of the same design that I got when they played Sound & Fury in 2009 (I think?).
Seller badinplaid1223 lives so close to me that I could drive over and take better pictures of the jacket myself.
MOM/MOB tank top
Greg Mongoloid sold the official version of this tank a week or two ago, but here is the “friends only” version so to speak. Given away to only the coolest people at Sound and Fury, it might be one of the rarest Rival Mob shirts. Maybe the MOM factor will take away from its desirability, maybe it will add to it, who knows. But its not often that you see a split shirt. A great example of the Doug Free/Bob Wilson love connection.
Fuck Yes! Taken
Oh shit. Today is the day! Not sure if you follow First World Problems, the podcast, but you should. It’s 3 awesome dudes interviewing a weekly guest. Each week, someone new, and usually weirder than last. The best part, to me, is that the podcast is ripe with inside jokes. Ragging on Scott’s lack of preparation is a good one, but my favorite is Joey feigning surprise every time Ray brings up a band called Taken. Yeap. Ray was the lead singer. And every time Ray relates to a guest by his experiences in Taken, Joey lets loose. It’s amusing. It was pretty much over the top during the Nick Beard of Circa Survive interview because Nick was also in Taken. It’s a gas. And today it’s happened. I finally stumbled across a Taken tee. This one is being sold by somecomerunning. Let Ray know, I’m a bad friend. I don’t think I’ve ever heard Taken. I’ve heard they sound like Thrice. If that’s your thing, you should listen to them too.
Dedicated To Babies Who Came Feet First
Y’all sleeping. Seriously. Not sure if you noticed but veganxedge has up a shit ton of great Cold World tshirts. Not only that, but each one was either sold at a fest, or limited tour merch or just flat out kick ass. Quit sleeping. Sleep is the cousin of death.
Sound And Fury 2011 – Wrap Up
Sound And Fury 2011 was a blast. There were roughly 67 bands and thousands of kids. No major injuries, no stupid fights, nothing that couldn’t be fixed or repaired. Plus, every band that attended actually played. It wasn’t cut short, it wasn’t shut down by security. Everyone seemed to work together on this one. But you don’t come to this blog to hear about bands. You come to hear about merch. That’s what I’ve got for you. Below you’ll find a break down of some of the merch highlights. Lets do this.
Summary:
Sound And Fury 2011 was all about two things: jerseys and snapbacks. Snapbacks were HUGE, Suburban Scum, Expire, Minority Unit, Down To Nothing, Cruel Hand, … they all had snapbacks. The only fitteds I saw were at the Reaper table, and he only had a handful (which all sold, mind you). And non-basketball jerseys were big. Interesting trend. 67 bands, 6-10 record labels, a few causes, … LOTS of tables. If I missed something that should be on one of these lists, definitely leave a comment.

Minority Unit Friends Only Snapback
Here we go! The second piece of merch from Sound And Fury 2011. This one is a little more appropriate. itsxdead is selling it for (one of??) the singer of Minority Unit. It’s a friends only hat that was limited to 12. Funny story about this hat. I manned the table for most of Sound And Fury, but when Minority Unit hit the stage, I knew I needed to watch and watch closely. Love this band. Great attitude, great vibe, great songs. Solid package. And in southern California, the crew was there to represent. It was one of my favorite sets of the weekend, no doubt. What took it over the top was the friends only tshirt. Every dude in the crew was wearing the black pocket print tee with “The Straight Edge” on the back. Simple tee, so fucking dope. During the set, it was basically a sea of people in this shirt stage diving, rocking the mic and moshing. I HAD to have one. After the set, and the panic that ensued during their merch table set up, Rudy came by and hit me up. He thanked me for shouting out Minority Unit all the time, and asked if I wanted some of the friends only merch. You know my jaw dropped and I barely squeaked out a “hell fucking yes!” An hour later, he stopped by the table again and handed me a snapback. The snapback you see below. They were even more rare than the tees, so I’m told. I was humble, but still dreamt about the tee. Fast forward 2 days, and I’m talking to Joey from 6131 Records. Turns out, he got a shirt but really wanted the hat. You know what happened next. Crucial trade. And everyone went home super fucking happy.
On a side note. Shout outs to Rudy, Guzman, Enrique and everyone else in the Minority Unit crew. It was great to finally meet you all. Keep The Faith!
The First Piece of Sound And Fury 2011 Merch to hit Ebay?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe nextbigthing35 has posted the very first Sound And Fury flip. This one happens to be the limited Suicide File tanktop. They didn’t make too many and seemed to sell out pretty quickly. Kids were really into the set. Even with the busted string, kids were into it. Plus, the busted string gave Dave time to work on his stand up. He ripped the Lakers pretty hard. On a related note, while walking down State Street in SB with Casali, a very, very, very short man shouted at Casali’s waist (that’s how short he was), “Let’s Go Yankees!” Must have been retribution for Casali’s Red Sox hat. Of course, we were in California, not the Bronx, so we were both confused. A block away, I hear the same man yell out “TWENTY SEVEN.” Casali didn’t hear it, but I’m pretty sure it happened.
