Naysayer jersey

This Naysayer jersey that soulvice88 is selling reminds me of Garvey and Mike. They both like soccer and wake up really early to watch Arsenal matches. Now I grew up in a house that viewed soccer as a “fake sport” my Mom was so sad that my brother wanted to play soccer instead of football. Now I have a lot of friends that like soccer and play it so I don’t think that its a fake sport anymore.

What better way to promote your hockey themed band than a custom printed soccer shirt! I’m guessing that this one was made for a European tour, but I will wait for our resident Slapshot expert to return from his hiatus and tell us what we are looking at. Blood For Blood – Soccer Jersey

When bands release sports related merchandise, I always assume the band does it for a reason. I’ve always been under the impression that the band must surely play the sport if they are releasing sports related merch. You can surely imagine Freddy Madball playing a little one on one with Karl Earth Crisis. Or maybe two on two with Rick Ta Life (of 25 Ta Life) and Rick Ta Life (of Commin Correct). That I can picture.

However, I cannot in my wildest dreams EVER picture the members of Blood For Blood playing soccer. Can you? Can you picture Buddha hustling over to save a ball from going out? Or Ian exercising the perfect bicycle kick? Or even White Trash Rob heading a ball into the net? I could probably picture every member getting rowdy and participating in a little hooliganism, of course. But as for playing the sport, not so much.

Or is this just another attempt by Victory Records to make a buck? At least the construction appears like quality.

I thought soccer jerseys were a mid 90s thing, but I’m obviously wrong. This jersey can’t be more than 3 years old. Support 1917 records, support LION.

If my sister hadn’t removed a bunch of her facebook pictures, you would have now been looking at a picture of me wearing a Turmoil soccer jersey. A picture from 1998, I do believe. Sadly, she removed it.
