Youth crew 99

The first YOT reunion gig in CT in 1999 was the only YOT reunion gig I ever saw and im kinda glad about that. It was a pretty good time. I remember how psyched everyone was when we first heard rumors about it. At that time bands just wernt doing reunions so it was kinda a big deal. I remember it was supposed to be at a skatepark in the same town but it got moved at the last minute to the other venue. I remember there was a TON of people there so they ended up played 2 gigs. First band to play that day was Right Brigade and they had a killer set too. The rest is all a happy blur. Execpt maybe when we set up a long folding table as a ramp and used it to stagedive all over people during YOT. I wasnt feeling the shirt at the time and I still dont think I am feeling it now. Easy pass for mee but if not pick it up from adultcrash2009

WTF? Not In This Lifetime!

I like Lifetime. Always have, always will. I can support their first album AND their last album. All the albums in between too. But over the years, the shirts have gone on a downward spiral (and that doesn’t mean they’ve been pumping out sweet NIN rip off tees either).

First up is this reunion tee from 2005, straight from a Philly dude, too, philly256969. I honestly can’t recall the 2005 reunion gig. I do recall a 2006 gig in Cambridge. I thought about going but then decided I wasn’t into seeing a reunion gig. I ended up rolling to the show regardless because my older brother had a ticket. I sat outside the gig and waited for the sweaty masses to roll out. After seeing everyone ring their shirts out, I think I won.

And this must be MUCH more recent. Actually, I’m hoping it isn’t even related to lifetime, the band. Maybe it’s just a catchy phrase on a tee. Because WHOOOFFFF, terrible.

BIN – Youth Crew 99

Youth Of Today reunited back in 1999. To me, this was the kick off of the reunion season. Granted, that season has lasted over 10 years now. I’m sure Morgado was there. I skipped out. Stayed home. You’ve heard the story before, but kevedynamite (Kid Dynamite reference??) has one up now with a BIN of $20. Seems like a no-brainer. EXCEPT it’s a navy tshirt. Boooooooo.

That’s a Raw Deal

When people talk about Raw Deal, how often do you think their name gets used in a pun? I’m guessing that shit happens all the time. How about this reprint shirt? Not a raw deal. It’s a great shirt. Also not a boot, but a legit shirt sold by the band when they reunited a few years back. Probably from 2007. I’ve always enjoyed this shirt. Just a classy looking tee. The only potential raw deal about this shirt? Bullet proof ink. That’d be my guess.

Make sure to peep xcactusdavex’s other auctions for more cheap gems.

Burn Hood

I had one of these in the late 90s. Most seemed to be sold at the Burn reunion in 97. I didn’t go to that reunion (I know Jaybil did though), but I did go to the Burn reunion a few years later at CBGBs. That show was ILL. Cro-Mags, American Nightmare, and some band called Frontline. Frontline was this weirdo punk rock band full of skinny guys. They played the longest set ever that day.

As for this hood, it’s a good look. I seem to remember the hoods were all sort of small. I’ve met JD, and I don’t recall his head being that big. I think it’s just small hood.

Split Lip / Chamberlain Reunion Tee

When you think of Split Lip merch, I bet you think of the same things I do.

a) short wide
b) cut & rolled
c) wacky ass colors
d) odd ass placements (belly button, kidney, …)

This only meets ONE of my expectations. That’d be D. randomly located graphic. And in reality, it’s not all that random. In fact, it’s a very 2005 placement.

That disappoints me. I understand that Split Lip creates merch to sell and make money and that today’s consumer does not want kidney area graphics, but shit, don’t forget your roots!

Size Medium? That’s just bullshit. If this isn’t tent sized, it’s not for me.

At least it’s a brown tee …

Youth Of Today Youth Crew 99 Tee

I remember A TON of hype surrounding this show, for obvious reasons. But I could not be bothered with it. Not sure why, it just didn’t seem like something I wanted to support.

It’s strange because I definitely supported Underdog in 98 and then later, Bold in 2004, … a bunch of reunions. But something about Youth Of Today was special to me, and I couldn’t find myself supporting this event.

Two gigs in two nights. I stayed home. Actually, most of the Worcester crew stayed home, as I recall. Oddly enough, to this day, I don’t regret not going.
