Red, White and … Navy

You know how you can write to your senator to complain about local issues? Or you could write to your govenor or school board or lunch lady? In that vein, is there anyone I can write to about the glut of excellent hardcore shirts printed on GOD DAMN NAVY tshirts? This injustice has to stop. For instance, let’s look at this amazing Reach The Sky tshirt from baca1231. I don’t recall seeing this design before, but I would say it’s near perfect. 13 star flag, great fonts, “American Hardcore,” … pretty much everything I could ask for in a tshirt. But there is an obvious glaring issue. Yeck.

So who knows when this shirt dropped? Later victory era? I can’t plae it.

Buske’s pre-winter clear out

I don’t know about where you are in the world, but here in New England, the chill is in the air. I think we were in the 30′s this morning. I don’t mind it at all. It comes with the territory. Always looking to lend a helping hand to those without warm clothes in their closets, long time commentator and friend of TTD buskenyc is selling off a bunch of his gear. All sweatshirts at this point, but I hope there are more to come. I have to believe there is a Rag Men sweatshirt in there somewhere. Anyway, take a look at these and know that anything you purchase is going to a good cause: diapers and plenty of them. Congrats! The rest of you can demonstrate your form of congratulations by spending LOTS of dough on these hoods (diapers aren’t cheap, you know). Good times all around!

Cats And Dogs (But In This Case, We’re Only Talking Cats).

Some people shouldn’t be let anywhere near pets. People like this old hag, for instance:

If I said I hope someday someone finds her in a dumpster, would anyone blame me?

Selller pushinfatweight, on the other hand, I wish nothing but the best for. Dude is putting up whatever shirts he can to help raise money for his cat Maddie’s vet bills. He may not selling any Chain Of Strength “What Holds Us Apart” shirts, but as someone who lost a kitten to a similar illness, and who rescued his current cat, I think these are well worth us paying attention to. Plus there’s a Madball basketball jersey. You know how we are here about Madball and basketball jerseys…

More auctions to come.

A Reader Request Correction

I like xrebelheartsx. I don’t personally know who this person is, but based on the descriptions given out, we must be kindred spirits. Seriously the line about “not blowing smoke up your ass” in the Bane hooded sweatshirt description had me laughing. It was a quality laugh out loud moment. Judging from some of the other description wordings, I’m assuming the seller is a reader of this site. Speak up if you are out there. Kudos are due!

Now for the correction part, which is actually more of a clarification on detail, I suppose. In this first Reach The Sky tshirt description, the seller says, “I think this one is also from the pre-Victory days, but someone correct me if I’m wrong … Regardless of what era it’s from, this shirt is killer.” These are all correct. But it would be more accurate to say that this shirt is the SECOND Reach The Sky design. WAY before Tony Victory came a knocking. I’ll wholeheartedly agree that it is a killer shirt, of course. I’ve seen it in this blue and a hunter green. You know I prefer the hunter green.

This shirts slays me too. I love the plain graphic font on the front, great color choice too. Sadly, the overbearing, yet tiny ECER logo sort of kills it for me. It just doesn’t fit or match at all.

And this last one, well, I can’t hang. It’s just a little too corny in the graphic department for my taste. I like clean and simple. This was neither, really. Maybe I haven’t reached that point in my life yet. Too soon for me? Maybe next year.

Keepers Of The Bin

Whoa, someone scooped up that Dropdead tee with the quickness. Smart move. Now get that animaniacs tee too! In honor of that quick purchase, here’s another BIN. This is the Terror Keepers of The Faith basketball jersey. I saw these at Sound And Fury and was SUPER impressed. Just a smart looking jersey. Honestly, when it comes to merch, terror does it up right. I mean, check this bundle that just dropped on merchnow

Heather grey champion tee featuring Larrabee and son. That’s just tight. $20 for a well made tee and an LP? Dumb if you don’t. Maybe you want to think about picking up this basketball jersey from c.marti79 while you’re at it too …

Mastering the Art of Selling in Lots

So you’ve got a hot lot on your hands and you want to sell it on ebay?

That’s great.

You’ve written up great descriptions of each item, INCLUDING how you came to own them?

Excellent.

You’ve taken individual pictures of every item in your lot?

That’s great too.

BUT

You may want to consider putting the most “valuable” tshirt as the default image.

In this case, the following 3 shirts are in a lot. Which pic do you think the buyer sees as they scroll down the search results?

a)

b)

c)

If you guessed A, you are correct. If you guessed B, you should have been correct. No disrespect to Ian and Co, but I’m saying, from the seller’s standpoint, the American Nightmare tee is the gem of the lot and should be the item that gets the most attention.

ps. Great Impact tee. Big fan. Continue reading »

Reach The Sky

I’m a big Reach The Sky fan.

The live shows were some of the most fun times I’ve had. Larrabee was always quick with a joke, STUUUUUUU shouts for hours, Sassy being sassy and BM doing his thing. Great crew of dudes. For a while they had a pretty good rotating membership. Like that time Bob broke his arm moshing for Bane. Or the time the original bassist left (shit, cannot for the life of me recall his name. I suck).

This hood feels old to me. Pre-Victory Records era, I’d say. Maybe the second EP era. A very similar logo.

While You Were Sleeping …

While you were sleeping, I was busy working my ass off. I’ve been pulling 15 hour work days lately. Not cool, not cool.

But I’ve got a few minutes. So here’s a few things you may have missed, while you were sleeping.

Question: What do these tees have in common?

Answer: I sold both of them from two different merch tables to the same person.

That’s right, me. I was manning the Bane and Reach The Sky merch tables during This Is Hardcore 2009. So I’m sure it was me. Great shirts, I’m feeling it. You can’t go wrong with Bane and Reach The Sky.

ps. Happy birthday baby bro.

Reason Enough – BIN Price Cheaper than a 6 Pack of Beer

All right you assholes.

Someone didn’t bid on this the last time it was up. I’m ashamed of all of you.

The tee is back up again, and this time around, the Buy It Now price is $4.50. I’ve never bought a 6 Pack of Beer, but I bet it costs more than that, at least for the good stuff in glass bottles. Sometimes you can’t even get a decent 12 pack of Coke Zero for that cheap. Thankfully, I’m a cheap ass, and I wait for the price to dip under 3 for $10. Still that works out to $4 per 12 pack ($0.60 deposit per 12 pack).

So, go buy this now.
