The King At The King In 2000

I was never a huge King Diamond fan. When it came to the King, I always preferred his work with Mercyful Fate to his solo work. I did see him on this tour however and he was great. Shadows Fall opened and were touring on “Of One Blood” (which is still a good listen). The main thing that sticks out about the show was my friend’s boss who was an old metal dude from Texas came up with this running joke that the King drove a diesel Mercedes Benz and the clack-clack-clack sound it made every time he started it up and spent the entire set trying to convince us that it was true. Dude was insanely drunk at the show but it was very funny at the time and made for a good joke for months after. scihorrorbass is also selling an insane amount of old metal CDs and vinyl so check it out.

Don’t Break The Oath.

Metal Monday is a commitment. It’s not meant to be taken lightly. So even though I wanted nothing more than to go to bed immediately following Game of Thrones (best show), I carried on with my search for metal tees to post about. I didn’t actually take an oath to do so every week or anything, but if I had, I wouldn’t break it without good reason, or at least without arranging a substitute. And yes, that is my ham handed roundabout reasoning for starting with a Mercyful Fate “Don’t Break The Oath” shirt.

More Metal Monday!

Kind of funny how the pic of this Heathen shirt is crystal clear and sharp as a tack, while the Mercyful Fate 3/4 sleeve looks like it’s was taken with a camera that had a vaseline smear on the lens. The black bedspread with Steelers blanket/Snuggie background doesn’t help things either. Based on the pics, you’d almost think these weren’t from the same seller, but they are: both of these Metal Monday selections come from brad9718.
