Drokk It.

Yeah, so it’s not Metal Monday, but drokk it. We’ll do two metal posts today anyways. Besides, the question of just how many Judge Dredd tees did Anthrax make back in the day is preying on my mind. You see, I thought we’d seen them all, but then here comes zans666 with one I’ve never seen before:

Anthrax really should have stuck with Dredd, rather than attempting to copyright NYHC and then later devolving into generic metal images and Alex Ross paintings. I seriously have yet to see an Anthrax Dredd tee that is a bust.

You’re Next Punk!

After so many Metal Mondays, you’d think this tee from turb0toast would be an Anthrax tee, but it’s not. Just a plain old fashioned Judge Dredd tee. And there ain’t nuthin’ wrong with that.

I AM THE LAW.

I’m a bit perturbed by the part of mamatiff74′s description that asks “how many Anthrax shirts did my husband have??!”, because this is the only one up, and she used a past tense, which means we missed the rest. DISLIKE BUTTON.

Even worse for me is that I already own this one (I can’t recall off hand if it’s small or medium, I’m guessing medium since I doubt I ever could have fit into an 80s small), and I need a larger size. I’ll just force myself to not check her finished auctions, that way I can tell myself all the rest of them were size small’s as well. Still, no one’s bid on this yet, and with less than a day to go and a 9.99 start I bet you can grab it cheap, if you can fit into it anyways. So that would pretty much mean this one’s for Lynn.

Judge NOT.

More like Judge WOW. Literally never, ever seen this Anthrax shirt that 80metal10 is selling before, and it’s AWESOME.

Somewhere inside, I had to have known that Anthrax did a shirt with the Not Man’s head on Judge Dredd’s body, but I certainly never imagined it would look this sweet. Plus tour dates on the back? Super rad. The price tag is definitely high, but the awesomeness of the shirt has clearly outweighed the cost, as it’s got a bid regardless.

Definitely a great Metal Monday find.

I Can’t Find The Law.

So here’s the thing.

I found this swank Judge Dredd shirt from boxedupman:

Sup Comic Noize? Anyways, so naturally, my first inclination was to try to find an Anthrax “I Am The Law” shirt to post with it. Because as I’m sure you know, back in the day, Anthrax was all about putting Dredd on their merch. And yet, I could find none of it in my search last night. Maybe a crappy looking reprint that I’d never stoop so low as to post, but in terms of actual Anthrax/Dredd shirts… nothing. Not even from the psycho priced vintage sellers. The closest I came was this poster BIN from bbidowntown:

Oh, and then there’s this blah number from snake_nation:

WE Are The Law? WE Are The Law? Plus the Dredd badge knock off logo taking up the whole front of the shirt (man, does that not look good that large)? No buys.

What I DID find however, was this Iron Maiden 10 year anniversary shirt from perdida01, which while not an Anthrax shirt straight up (or at all), does include them with Eddie on the back of the shirt.

Eddie or Dredd… it’s tough. Let’s compromise…

Ah Judge Death. Man do I wish this was a size XL (I’m not fat, its just from 1987) and didn’t have a $100 BIN. See what I mean about psycho priced vintage sellers?

Anthrax: Mega City One Hardcore.

I’m a big fan of rainbowgasoline‘s auctions right now, and I’ll tell you why. Despite being an eBay “vintage store” with a large amount of super high priced BIN’s, they also make sure to post a whole bunch of low priced auctions for general bidding. And it’s not crap either. Case in point:

I know some people prefer the Not Man, but to me Anthrax shirts were always at their best when they had Judge Dredd or Judge Death on them. Alas, the only ones that ever turn up are size smalls. This includes the I AM THE LAW shirt sitting in my “to eBay” pile at home. Speaking of the Not Man…

The real reason this shirt is a gem can be found amidst the bounty of “stickers” on the skateboard on the back…

Yes, this is one of the infamous Anthrax attempts at slapping NYHC on their merch. Definitely not their brightest idea, but at least it’s not as blatant as on this sticker being sold by cobwebtiques

Definitely makes me believe the story about Minus smacking Scott Ian in the head with an orange at the Ritz. You’d have to think that it would have been far smarter to continue with the Judge Dredd angle and call themselves Mega City One Hardcore instead, but then again, who ever looked to Anthrax for intelligence?
