This one is for JayBil

Perhaps this amazingly bright Outspoken shirt for sale by xmauricioisraelx will be the perfect thing to get JayBil to listen to Outspoken. This is a thing of beauty. I wish more bands used bright shirts with muted inks. Sure it’s soooooo 90′s but I like it. Judging by the comments last week, you guys do as well.

An Easter Miracle?

WTF? Someone please explain the ridiculous price on this shirt from thehumanheart. I know JayBil’s work is hard to come by, but c’mon folks, this price is outrageous. Is it the LOC? Or what? Someone please clue me in.

Invasion – Description Refute

Seller joexstrummer has this great Invasion tshirt up. These were released for the most reunion gig. It was very last minute, but both Morgado and Jaybil came through with designs. This particular one is a JayBil design. The front is a nod to the previous Invasion shirt he did. We talked about it for a bit and he described his process to me. Apparently he wasn’t super happy with the old tees he did. The dogs were too faint, or something like that. So this time, he did it big. The refute comes in when the seller says, “probably a nod to those old S*rewdriver Security shirts.” Knowing JayBil, I have a hard time believing he’d give a nod to that bullshit band. Not his style. Very ill dogs. Still waiting on one of these shirts to come my way … something about ice grey …

And if black tees aren’t your thing, you could always grab this white tee from cut_down. This one is obviously a Morgado design …

What a fun and goofy band …

The seller does a good job of summing up Mental with that one line. Seriously. Everything about Mental was designed for fun. Lots of great mosh, good stage dives, and obviously, at least in the beginning, some goofy lyrics. But you know what, it worked. Not only did it work, but inspired legions of bands after them. Without Mental, we’d probably be forced to listen to 600 American Nightmare clones. No disrespect to AN because they did it right. But AN clones … I can do without those. We can probably also blame the Mental Crew for lots of terrible moshing now. These dudes brought back a style that probably hadn’t been seen since Belushi was alive … Think about that. Shout out to Jaybil on a great design.

Rival Mob

Every time I think I’ve seen ALL the Rival Mob gear out there, something pops out of the woodwork. In this case, sidebofmywar drops a couple of bombs.

Boston Raw Dogs?

Wow. This shirt has a solid JayBil vibe to it, but I’m pretty sure he didn’t make it. Great look.

Lord Of The Rings? Gollum? Mosh? Oh yes.

One Mob To Rule Them All.

Great look. Pretty sure this one was from a fest in 2009. Or potentially United Blood a few months back. Great look.

Edge Day 2008

If you don’t know the back story on this tee, let me fill you in.

Our good friend Jason Barrow had a beautiful dream. He imagined handing tshirts to every kid who attended edge day 2008 Xed up. No cost to the kid, just ink on their fist. So he pulled it all together.

First he enlisted TTD’s very own JayBil to design the tee for him. JayBil had to redraw the entire FP man by hand based on images online. No joke. And he picked some great fonts.

Then Jason hit up Kris Mission of Mission Merch to screen the tees. Shirts arrived fresh, crisp and on time.

As each Xed up kid came in the door, they were given one of these. Very cool of Barrow. Lots of #PMA karma there.

Personal note: I contemplated taking a kids shirt away for moshing like a douchebag. I’m sure Barrow would have approved, but I didn’t think it was my place.

Gauze & Jaybil

I can think of no bigger Gauze fan than Jaybil. Dude LOVES Gauze.

Lucky for him, he’s been in Japan for 4 (or 5??) years now and has gotten the chance to see them a bunch. Good for him. Dude represents the US with great stage dives and antics.

Jaybil is also the JP representative of TTD. He’s got big plans for this site. I’ve seen a few mock ups of upcoming projects. Hopefully, you’ll all be psyched.

Until then, buy this shirt and send it to Jay. He’d appreciate it.

Mental Crew Green/Yellow Tee

Mental Crew – Sick Of You!

This shirt is a gem. It’s quite possibly one of my favorite Mental tees. Everything about this tee conjures up a time and place in my life when Mental and the LOC ran that shit. Good friends, great gigs, dope food spots.

Now the seller lists this tee as a “Celtics” colourway. Not sure I agree with that. I think it’s more of a Brazil colourway. Yes, the blue/orange one is DEFINITELY a knicks colourway. Of course, we could get the straight dope from our very own JayBil as he designed the tee and picked colors.

NYHC – Official Wind Jacket

The auction proudly proclaims “official NYHC wind jacket.” How about that? NYHC has official jackets? And this is it.

I’m not sure about being official. Not sure who would officiate over such an event. Perhaps John Joseph, RayBeez (RIP) and Jimmy G. Of course, there would be a slew of other heads up in the mix, maybe on a committee to promote and preserve NYHC.

I wish Jaybil had been sporting this jacket when he met this young man randomly on the street of Tokyo.

Good look regardless. You’d think it was a photoshop based on the summer/winter outfits. Wild.

**edit 1(jayb) – i did photoshop on some cool sunglasses:) cause i dont need to ruin this site with my ugly mug.

**edit 2 – i was gonna wear an 89 DBNO tour shirt that day too but ive been wearing that gauze shirt pretty much everyday since i got it

**edit 3 – “My shades too dark to see you losers”

Kicking Myself – Planet Mental Tee

Ugh, I’m kicking myself today. Somehow, I let this great tee slip under my radar. I totally forgot to bid on it. And where does it end at? $10.50. That’s just stupid.

If you don’t know, this tee was designed by our own JayBil. For the record release show  18 came out on grey with purple ink and 18 on light blue with purple ink. You barely ever see those on ebay. Then they (jaybil) put together a few more on the light blue with maroon ink for dudes that missed out at the show. Not many of these ever saw the light of day, and very few of them were ever sold to “the public.” Seeing this one go for barely 10 clams is just wrong. Plain wrong.

Ain’t no party like a Planet Mental party!
