Equal Vision printed two designs for Hands Tied (if I remember correctly) when they released their record. barfight has one that’s a simple, to the point design that kinda has a distressed look to the lettering. This might have been screened by the band since there is no Equal Vision logo but I’m pretty sure it’s label printed.
If you’d like to dip a little further back into the catalog, how about this Mouthpiece 1995 Summer Tour tee? The back print is a little cracked but what a great design.
Well if that last Mouthpiece shirt wasnt your thing but you still want to stalk Tim then this Hands Tied shirt might be right for you. I was able to see Hands TIed a few times when they were around and they might not have been my favorite band they did have some killer merch. This shirt design being my favorite one. I bought it on a navy shirt with light blue and white inks. It is a nice simple design they I could get away with wearing while working part time at a health food store during college. Way better then wearing a “Floorpunch New Jersey” shirtt and getting asked where in NJ that is. I hate dealing with idiots and that FP shirt was an idiot magnet. One last post for now from marfeline
I dont remember what gig I got this shirt at but I got it at some Hands Tied gig. Probably one they played with Floorpunch. I was never the biggest Hands Tied fan but I always loved this shirt design. So crisp and so clean. I wore this shit out of this shirt for years after I got it. I think this also came in another colorway. I wanna say Black with red letters? I could be wrong in my old age. Snap this bad boy up from Mr.x614x
Wow, I can’t believe the lack of love going on for this Hands Tied shirt for sale by neonknights81. Sure it’s looking a little tired, but it’s under a buck. Let’s see, it’s four sided and has some nice fading as well. If this stays under $10, I’m gonna buy this. Fair warning.
str8t8 killing it with the BINs this week. Here’s a handful more that he just put up. Each is less than $40. Some hot deals in here. Great Better Than A Thousand tee. PS. When was the last time you saw that Black Train Jack tshirt? Never? Me too.
Ebay seller live_hard is bringing you a little New Jersey love by the way of Belgium. He has two Mouthpiece and one Hands Tied shirt for sale.
First up on the block is this New Age Records three sided long sleeve. It seems to be in nice condition with just the right amount of fading in the shirt, not the print which looks crisp.
This Mouthpiece “Face Tomorrow” shirt also looks to be in good condition, but the color looks like one of those weird turquoise mid 90′s colors. It is still better than that oh so lovely mustard color.
I know some of you can’t hang with red shirts, but damn a red/yellow colorway looks sweet on this Hands Tied shirt. I know they were trying to make a classic design, and I do believe they succeeded.
In the early 90s, there was a great throw together band called Prohibition. Sweet Pete (Prohibition) sang, Ed McKirdy (Hands Tied, Skull Crusher) played bass, Drew Kline (Strife YO!) played guitar, Sid Strife on drums. There was also a cast of rotating members (hell, every member could probably be considered in this rotation) Mike Hartsfield, Justin Moulder (Suburban Fanzine), Brian Maryansky, Chris Daily, … I’m sure there were plenty more**. They played gigs when each dude was in the same room. So maybe 3 gigs total. It’s hard when dudes live in California, Boston and Jersey/NYC/wherever Ed was living at the point (could have been Boston, but he’s a hermit). How many times were Strife, Undertow, Hands Tied and Sweet Pete all in the same room?
Regardless, I think they last time they played was 95. Could have been 93 even. But I guess I’m wrong, and this shirt from zombieritual83 proves it. Who knew they played again around 2000? I did not, but I’m sorry to have missed it. I knew they were all straight edge, and definitely did plenty of straight edge covers. I did not realize they were so militant. It’s weird, Pete’s a pretty laid back dude. I know he rolls with some dudes who are not straight edge. Same with Andrew and his hip hop crew. Those dudes — not straight edge. Same goes for Ed. I mean, seriously, Ed hangs out with Tim McMahon… But this shirt is proof. Hardline. I’ll probably be bidding big on this one since it is an unknown artifact to me. So please, keep back.
Straight Edge Revenge!
** thanks to Pete and Andrew for filling in the names I had forgotten. Much appreciate. Continue reading »
Hands Tied pushing out some cool gear in their time here on Earth with us. Everything was so fresh and so clean. This red long sleeve is no exception. As usual, I love that it has sleeve print. I love the red shirt. I love the yellow ink. I love that it’s an XL. Jesus, why don’t I marry it?
