Follow Through Longsleeve.

Seller itsxdead brings us what I believe to be a later period Follow Through longsleeve. I base this on the following:

1. None of the lines on the shirt are from any released FxT song.
2. It doesn’t say DRUG FREE YOUTH or SMORGASBORD STRAIGHT EDGE on the back.
3. The late 90s IME style font distressing in play instead of the usual plain block letter logo.

Am I wrong? I don’t think so. Only time will tell*.

*- if you get what I did there, you win a prize**.

**- no you don’t.

Follow Through Crew

My favorite Craig Mack story is about shirts, of course. This is either hearsay or something I may have read in a zine somewhere. It could also be a rumor that was passed down from one shirt nerd to the next … At some point, his older brother was getting out of the core, and some of his friends were headed out too. So they gave Craig a FEW trash bags full of tshirts. And not just some crap. Nah, these kids had been attending Anthrax shows during the peak. So he ended up getting this bag full of GEMS. Wishingwell, Schism, Chain Of Strength, Bold, … some real mind blowing stuff. Just crazy stuff. Maybe even a GB Better Than You tee … Can you imagine? I can’t. I wasn’t around during that time. I just found a shirt I wore the hell out of and it was a Bon Jovi autographed tour 89 tee. Yeah, and back then, it was real big on me. Sigh. One look that’ll never go out of style? The Smorgasbord Straight Edge look. Peep this great Follow Through hood from icegrillz05. Serious gem.

Mailbox Report: Variants

Oddly, none of these tshirts came from eBay. In fact, most were purchased directly from the band. BUT most of them were carted all over Asia, Europe and the US. I think that qualifies this for a mailbox report.

Lets start with an item that actually came to my mailbox. I found a seller who had some Follow Through gear (and a sweet Nemesis Records No Gangs tee, one of the last Nemesis Records PSA shirts I need. Sadly, he had already sold it to someone else). I made an offer for a tshirt. He accepted. Paypal money was sent, and he must have shipped it out immediately. When I got the package, I noticed it was heavy. And he spent more on shipping than I had expected. Of course, that’s because he shipped TWO Follow Through tshirts. In this case, the variants are the sizes. Both are XL. BUT one is cut and rolled while the other is tailored. The cut and rolled one is going to be a great beach shirt. Just need to get that white bucket hat. Can’t wait.

Next up is a Bane shirt. You’ll notice a Ferris Bueller’s Day Off quote and imagery. Not too shabby. The Bane logo is definitely a different one. Very 80s retro. But you’ll also notice the variations on color. One has pink and neon, the other has purple and yellow. I like variants.

Next is a JayBil special. Before he finished the redesign for TTD, he whipped up this awesome Globetrottin tshirt for Bane. I’m super psyched on the back pic. I didn’t take a picture of it so you’ll just have to buy one from Bane. You’ll notice 3 variations here. One is a tour shirt from Korea. It’s printed on this tshirt brand called Straight Punk. It’s very, very, very tiny. It features the additional “TOUR” moniker and some very odd blocking around the text. Next up is a mistake print. Somehow this one came on light blue with pink ink. Very odd. And notice the font is different. It’s the usual Bane logo font. Last up is the real deal design. Blue with red ink.

Finally, a shirt I’ve been looking to track down for 3-4 years. Yes, 3-4 years. You’re thinking, “This dude is crazy. It’s just a regular old Bane tee. A dime a dozen.” But not so fast, my friend. Notice the back print. The regular Crowded Rooms tee features a framed photo on the back. This one is SANS photo. I’m 99% certain a friend of Naidoo’s designed this and was definitely surprised to find some shirts had got out without the framed photo. Most were sold in Canada. Which could explain why I had so much trouble tracking this one down.

Oh, and guess what? This will be Bane’s first time EVER playing Sound And Fury Fest. Sadly, Follow Through is not edge … or playing the fest. Continue reading »

Bulldoze Superfan?

I have to imagine that rottingaway is either a superfan or connected to the band.

I mean, seriously, look at the stuff this dude is selling. It’s exclusively Bulldoze merch. How often does that happen?

I was only lucky enough to see Bulldoze once and it was a fucking doozy of a gig. Hard mosh represent.

April 10, 1999 @ Wallingford Skate Park CT : Leeway, Bulldoze, Ignite, Follow Through (reunion)

Oh, Leeway? Heard of them. How did Ignite even get on this gig? They were soooo pos and then Leeway & Bulldoze tour the place down with brutal mosh. I liked this venue. It was nice and bright. Could have been a day gig too. But the lights were on and you could witness all the mayhem. Can’t complain about a Follow Through reunion either.

Follow Through – Stand Hard Records Tee

You don’t see this version of the tee too often. Lots of white tees with blue ink but never the blue with red. And repping Standhard Records? You can’t go wrong.

You booze, you lose.
