Money In The Bank Part Two: All It Takes Is One.

So that limited CM Punk t-shirt from WWE’s Money In The Bank PPV this past Sunday? You know, the one that got pulled three times before finally making it to completion? That completion was to the tune of FIVE HUNDRED AND TEN DOLLARS. Take that Judge Stormin’ The West Coast longsleeves! And naturally, once people saw how much money there was to be made, the floodgates opened wide:

Hell, three hours ago this seller put up THREE (allegedly- these are totally all the same pic)! And they’re all already bid up well over a hundred bucks!

It even looks like there are now bootleggers!

Wouldn’t it figure that a Straight Edge dude is the one who brings merch flipping to the WWE? I look forward to seeing the “10 posts lambasting him for daring to make limited merch/1 post bashing the flippers and the people buying the flips” ratio make it’s way to wrestling message boards…

Money In The Bank.

I have long maintained that hardcore and professional wrestling have a lot in common. It’d require me to write a pretty long essay, so I won’t get into it here, but suffice to say I can now also officially add limited merch flippers with bad pricing habits to the list. How’s it goin’ sassy1223?

For those not in the know, last night’s WWE Money In The Bank ppv was a rather big deal for pro-wrestling fans (it was also an AWESOME show, and it’s worth your money just for the crowd heat during the main event alone; at times they were so loud you could hardly hear the announcers). A little Googling will fill in the details for you; I’m not gonna write a big thing so some dork can go “what are you, 12?”, especially since we all know the answer to that is a yes. The short of it is that the show was the disgruntled CM Punk’s last night with the company before his contract expired (yes, that’s the Straight Edge wrestler so many of you bemoan), and he had vowed to leave with the championship in tow. These shirts were sold at the venue last night to commemorate the occasion, and in a very hardcore-like fashion they sold out fifteen minutes after the show went on the air. Clearly, the seller took the idea of “Money In The Bank” to heart, as this auction was up and running by midnight…

Now, you can say what you want about pro-wrestling, but if you did your Googling, you’ll see that in the past 3 weeks, CM Punk has become the hottest pro-wrestling act perhaps since The Rock, and many think he’s on the verge of becoming the next Stone Cold Steve Austin. To me, the fact that another Straight Edge kid is in that position is pretty damn cool, and I’m choosing to celebrate it. Plus I promised the B9 wrestling thread I’d post any that I found…

edit: Apparently, the seller pulled this and relisted at double his original asking price. Why? Because there’s a one day auction from ratedrv1 going that has already cleared $150. Tho this seller DID offer bonus armbands in the bidding went that high. Never underestimate the drawing power of armbands I guess.

double edit: And now the above auction has been pulled completely. At last check, it had been at $253 and change. Dude must have gotten one hell of an offer.

TRIPLE edit: Annnnd it’s back!

QUADRUPLE edit(!): so it looks like what’s happening is, someone keeps reporting the guy, and he keeps having to relist. Hopefully he’s good now, cuz I ain’t going for a fifth edit.

I Make Bad Jokes.

You’ll not the absence of the “from the collection of Lars from Rancid” disclaimer on this one from kingbundy, but that isn’t the name that matters for this one. It’s actually the seller name that matters. Because you can’t deny that for this particular auction, it would be cooler if his seller name was “kingkongbundy”.

Get it? Because it’s a CM Punk shirt? GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY!
