Chain of Strength, The Sequel

We knew it was bound to happen. As soon as Rev announced these limited Chain shirts back in April, we just knew that they would soon end up on Ebay. This is the second one we’ve seen so far. Morgado covered the first one last week and prestoneleven gets the prestigious honor of being the second person to post one. Like the last one we saw, this one is also a Small so smaller dudes and dudettes this is for you. Classic and iconic image on both sides…at leas the seller doesn’t make up some story about how the shirt didn’t fit. For those of you attending the Rev 25th Anniversary, someone take a count of how many people wear this shirt that weekend.

New REV Chain Tee, Old Non-REV Chain Tee.

It was terribly obvious that this was gonna happen: one of the Revelation 25th Anniversary Chain Of Strength tees has shown up on the ‘bay, courtesy of rfo8

Yes, this lttle baby is the shirt that crashed 1000 web browsers, not to mention the Rev site when it made it’s debut. It was limited to 200, so it can’t be a surprise that at least one person “bought the wrong size”. Quite frankly, I’m not all that impressed with it. So you’ve got a sloppy looking number screened under your hem and the lamest REV star ever, big deal. I hear the image quality is rather nice tho…

I honestly can’t say I wouldn’t have bought one, since I do like Chain, but I certainly wouldn’t have put myself through the stress that a lot of other people did trying to get their hands on one. If it was me, and I wanted a WHUA tee, I’d shoot my money over to knockoutnj instead, who has a Foundation Records logo’d tee up that, while of uncertain pedigree, is just as nice looking (arguably better, quite frankly, I do not care for those font changes) and given the ridiculous demand for the Rev tee, might just go for less…

If there’s anyway for him to figure out his tee’s pedigree (I’m making an educated guess that it is sans tag), he’d certainly like to know it (he has two other pics linked in his auction but the pics are too big to post here), so anyone with any advice feel free to post it up in the comments section.

True Till My Dead Body

Chain’s classic “True Till Death” design has been ripped off numerous times by all sorts of bands ranging from Earth Crisis to Paint It Black. Over My Dead Body took a stab at it as well and they did a pretty good job at it. They had a relatively long name (like Chain) so it fit well on the front of the shirt. The back is a little faded but it looks like the Indecision Records logo in the famous Rev star. vinyljunkiedistro has loads of stuff up covering a wide variety of genres so check it out.

Chain Of The Hundreds

bleedingpowers is a dude I’ve known for many years and he has one of the most incredible record collections you’ll ever hope to see. He also has this The Hundreds “Chain of Strength” shirt that was printed in 2009 as part of a special collection. The design was given the thumbs up by Ryan Hoffman so at least it wasn’t a bootleg. I remember some people being absolutely up in arms when these were first sold while others were cool with it. I dig it. This one is brand new and never taken out of the bag…by the way, did you see the new Chain shirts that Rev will be selling next month? Pretty sharp

Alex Pain Of The Chain

It seems like the Chain Of Strength “What Holds Us Apart” design pops up a few times a month on Ebay but this “Alex Pain” design…I searched back through the site and I don’t think we’ve ever seen it posted before. While the “WHUA” design is my favorite design from the band, this might be a very close second. Man this thing rules…I really dig the green Rev star on the back and the front keeps that traditional “True Til Death” front print that Rev did for the “TTD” design. I personally prefer the gray tee to the white as well. The seller asone75 is our old friend Slavko if I remember correctly. While I know some people in the past may have had some problems, I’ve traded with him and had no problems. Just a heads up…

Statue Short Sleeve Ending Soon

A few weeks ago, I posted this same design in a long sleeve and asked if Rev ever made this in a short sleeve. One of our readers said they did and lo and behold, sinkler100 pulls one out. Statue was definitely a band I got into as I got older and it’s just a good DC-inspired emo-hardcore record. If I weren’t so broke, I’d be watching this but unfortunately, it’s not in the cards for me. Maybe some day…

What Holds Us Apart Is What We Believe.

A classic West Coast pairing from seller sinkler100 this morning: an Insted “What We Believe” longsleeve, which he picked up at Insted’s “last” show back in 1991, and a Chain of Strength “What Holds Us Apart” tee, also picked up in ’91. I like how in these, and every other auction, he attributes any stains to possible “stage diving mishap(s)”. I also like both these tees. Clean, classic designs.

Statue Longsleeve Ending Soon

I’ve always liked this Statue longsleeve from gecco0603. But as I’ve stated before, I just can’t pull off longsleeves because of the South Florida humidity. Was this ever made as short sleeve? I’ve only seen the longsleeve.

My Favorite Shirt. Ever.

According to xstefahnx, this is his favorite shirt. Ever. I can’t agree. Maybe he’s never seen a Schism PX shirt, or a Chain Of Strength True Till Death tee … But then again, maybe he means, it’s the best shirt he’s ever owned. Now that, I’d believe.

How would you take your Chain Of Strengths?

There are a few ways to get your Chain Of Strength fix today. First up, seller xuttermoshx has a trifecta of Chain shirts for your perusal. First up we have an original WHUA shirt. We can file this one under the well loved/needs an oxyclean bath category.

I have heard many things about these blue printed Chain shirts sans “X”. Made after they broke up/made by people not in the band, I usually classify this one as a kinda bootleg/kinda real shirt. Someone clue me in with specifics please. I’ll be here all day.

The last item from xuttermoshx is a bootleg of one of my favorite shirts. There is not much better that a navy Chain shirt, and here is your chance to grab a bootleg on the cheap.

Last shirt of the group is this OG gray Chain Of Strength shirt my friend Lars is selling. It’s not listed on eBay, so hit him up with any questions at x28779x@gmx.de

Chain, Chain for everyone!
