Bulldog Pride

I have my own Melissa. If she pulled this many Victory Records tees out of the “deep recesses” of my closet, I’d be worried. But that’s 23percent’s story. He proudly bought all of these from Victory Records. Straight from the label, he says. That’s cool. When you live in Nebraska in the early 90s, I think it’s perfectly acceptable. If you had a similar upbringing, I suggest snagging these. Free shipping, could make a pretty cheap lot in the end. Could very well be worth your time (plus, the Strife tee and Snapcase hood are dope. The other designs are legit, but pretty standard ones).

It seems fitting that we should end the year on a Bulldog note. 2010 was good to us. You were all good to us. Thanks for all the great comments. Keep them coming. We’ll see you in 2011. I’m actually surprised there are only 5 dogs on here …

In the grand scheme of it, the 90s gave us plenty of cool things. The internet, Snapcase, … plenty of cool shit. Then again, it also gave us the piss grey tshirt. Yeeks. It seems that every band had a piss grey tee back in the 90s. No idea why. And thankfully, it only lasted a short period. Dudes must have realized that after a few wears, it was all down hill. It’s a shame too because this Strife tshirt is one of my faves. Love that round One Truth logo on the back. I can even live with the one color bulldog. Nap Time’s Over!

Ok, you’ve ate your t(of)urkey, you’ve ate your sweet potatoes and you’ve ate too many slices of pie (at least, that’s what I’ve done …). Now it’s time to work off those 2500 calories. That was enough food for a whole day, not just dinner. I’d suggest some hoops to ward off that tryptophan crash. bombsquad206 and bxhonda have exactly what you need. Time to dust off those old Jordans, grab one of these jerseys and hit the blacktop. Smart look in the Madball or Hatebreed jersey. You just have to decide whether you rep NYC or CT. Think about it.

Ebay seller backside_kickflip is really bringing us the goods here. Thank goodness Victory Records left all of those sucky bands they had on their label off of this shirt and went ahead and dedicated this shirt to the almighty bulldog. What a good looking piece of hardcore history staring you right in the face. I hope this shirt doesn’t get too out of hand, because I hope to snag it on the cheap. For realz.

I know forgerelli is a reader of this blog. But that didn’t stop them from touting that GIANT ass bulldog on the back. He made it a main stay in the title. GUILT X LARGE GREEN T-SHIRT W/GIANT VICTORY BULLDOG!!! Really? Seems overkill to me. The dog on the sleeve was enough. Couldn’t they put a live shot on the back? Or some emo lyrics?? Lots of choices. They chose wrong, I bet.

Growing up in Maine (yeah, it always comes back to that), my music options seemed pretty narrow. This was pre-internet, and pre mailorder knowledge days. Honestly, in all my years, I’ve probably only mailordered 3 or 4 things. No joke. But back in the day, we had to get by on Thank You lists. That was my bread and butter.

I happened to come across Cause For Alarm one day while perusing my Old School To New School WarZone CD. I had never heard Cause For Alarm, but I could recall seeing the cover while flipping through CDs at Bull Moose. The next week, I picked it up. It was definitely well worth it. Great NYHC sound, lots of energy. I was feeling it all the way. Fast forward a few years, and I got the chance to see them in New Jersey. I can’t recall much about the set, but I remember it being quite enjoyable. At the time, seeing Bane and Ten Yard Fight overshadowed seeing CFA. Looking back, I wish I had paid more attention during their set.

As for this tee, I’d be super surprised if it did NOT have a doggie on the sleeve. This seems like perfect Victory Records merch. Note the pissy yellow grey tee too. Yay for the mid 90s. Great looks. Make sure to check out the other auctions from not2mesarahc. Dude doesn’t live too far from me. Wouldn’t be surprised if I knew the seller.
