Blood in the Water

I remember the last time I saw Shark Attack was at a VFW in Jersey with 97A and Tear it Up. That was an awesome show. I think I might have video of it somewhere. timidsteps is selling a Shark Attack shirt that was released by Bridge 9.

Cruel Hand Life In Shambles

I remember buying one of these about 4 years ago at a Bane show in NYC at the Gramercy Theater. I believe mine is hunter green. I guess at first I thought it was a Pushead drawing but later I realized it wasn’t. The artwork is done by EveStone. Not sure who that is but I think its pretty cool. jtdxdk28 must have gotten this one later when they were printed on navy. Great shirt and a great band.

FOUNDATION ATL SXE UB

Most of you know that I usually post Soundgarden shirts. But I’m actually a bigger fan of the core. Foundation is one of those bands on my radar. I can’t wait for that new LP to drop. Murphy is lucky he gets to go to UB this weekend and enjoy the music and the merch. I had to stay and work at the fucking bank. That’s what you get when you wear a tie. I’ll bet xrobertrizzox does not wear a tie when he could wear this ATL represent shirt. I’m sure Foundation will kill it this weekend.

Schism – Original Shirt!!

And by original, the seller defines that as (misspelling and all), “PRETTY MUCH YOU ONLY GOT ONE OF THESE IF YOU PRE ORDERD THE BOOK BACK IN THE EARLY 2000′S! OUT OF PRINT!!!!” The early 2000s? Damn, that was SOOOOOO long ago. A “rare” “out of print” reprint of a shirt made in 2005. If you aren’t selling all your Picassos (with provenance, mind you) to get this tee, you’re an idiot.

Do sellers really think that will work for them? No disrespect to Bridge 9 and the excellent work they did with the Schism Fanzine book, but anyone claiming this shirt is an “original schism shirt” has no fucking clue what Schism even was. I’m just saying …

Triple Record Release Prints

In the world of prints, matching numbers are cool. Getting 3 prints with matching numbers always increases the inherent value. And usually, AP (artist proofs) are even more valuable.

When Linas dropped these 3 prints for sale at the 3 record release shows, kids were murdering each other to get one. Somehow, I ended up with an Artist Proof of one print. I was pretty happy with it. Others, I have seen with matching sets. I think Kurt Wilson may have the 3 neatly framed. It was quite a classy production.

American Nightmare, Death Threat, Shark Attack. 3 great B9 releases. A real big day for Bridge 9 records, that’s for sure. I’m pretty positive I went to this gig, but my mind is blanking on it. I’m positive it was at the Met Cafe, but I’ve gone completely blank. Someone clue me in. March 18, 2002 (oddly, 3 days prior, I saw an excellent gig at the Palladium, Some Kind of hate, Horror Show, Count me Out, Panic, and American Nightmare). I can’t imagine I would have skipped such a gig …

As far as matching prints go, you’ll have to keep looking. vvvvvmarkvvvvv is selling 2 prints with matching numbers BUT not all 3. And animlstc is selling 2 prints which you could use to make all 3 match, but sadly, no matching numbers there. Keep digging for those matches!

Shai Hulud – Bridge 9 Mosh

A few weeks back I was hanging out with Elizabeth Wrenn.

She was originally from Florida so you know she LOVES Jesus, and all christian straight edge hardcore bands (or not).

Anyway, I was commenting that she probably loved to mosh to Shai Hulud back in the day. Not that they are Christian Straight Edge at all, mind you.

She quickly remarked that she was OLD and moshed for Bloodlet instead.

Please picture E Wrenn moshing now. Impossible to imagine.

How the hell are you going to sell a shirt when it’s folded up like that? Is that a lower hem print, a chest print, a back print? Who knows.

No Warning – B9 4 Sided Long Sleeve

When Bridge9 dropped these at Posi Numbers, based on the mobs of kids around the merch table, you’d think Chris Wrenn was handing out Chung Kings. It was PANDEMONIUM. Every kid wanted this tee. I think they made an appearance on the webstore for about 15 minutes before selling out.

But for me, I don’t get it. I mean,  it’s a chill shirt, but it’s not riot-worthy. Great colors, in an old school Schism style. Yeah, that’s cool. But that feels like all it has to offer. Maybe I’m reading too much into a purposely simple shirt, but it just doesn’t grab me.

Back around 2005, you could sell one of these on ebay and finance a small automobile purchase. We’ll see how this one does. But I’m guessing the market on No Warning merch has cooled since then.
