Our good friend getdown87 just listed this 1985 Black Flag bars shirt. How can such a simple design have such an impact for so many years?
It’s mind blowing. This one has a SST 1985 copyright under the logo. Grab this one and show your friends how vintage you really are.

Black Flag BIN

We have posted up this shirt from blackrebelvintage before. Im surprised it hasnt sold. I know the BIN is a bit steep for the condition of this shirt but Ive seen worse go for more. A good condition of this shirt might go for 300-350 so this isnt too bad. Maybe those pit stains are highlighted by the flash? Sometimes my camera makes shirts look lighter than they really are. I dont know they look pretty bad.
I really love this shirt and dont wear mine nearly as much as I should. Its one of those shirt where I like the shirt way more than the record. Kind of like any Bold shirt over any Bold record.

The Black Flag shirt that rockawayrecordsis selling might be my favorite design from them…

The blue shirt, the orange trim, the AOQ predating bomb blast (drawn by Pettibon of course)… everything about this really clicks for me. Pretty much every other shirt they ever did was either a record cover slapped on a shirt or just the bars logo, but since the 1986 tour shirts draw from the In My Head cover, which was multiple small Pettibon drawings, the shirts from that tour feel fresh. Maybe it’s just me. Plus there’s the fact that they’ve never been reprinted and booted ad nauseum, so whenever one pops up, it’s like seeing it again for the first time.

This is an older Black Flag shirt. Not a gig era shirt but early 90s. During that time period SST was using a lot of shirts with their own tags on the inside. They were pretty good quaity shirts too. The cotton is pretty thick on them. This shirt is not as cool as a “Side 2″ My War shirt but its still pretty cool. Does anyone know when they stopped using those shirts with those tags?

Black Flag – My War

Some boots are better than others. This one from zwuerthner is … interesting. The graphic is obviously awesome. Can’t go wrong with that Black Flag graphic. But a dark red ink on a black tshirt? I’m not sure I’d chose that combo. Granted, it’s chill. Maybe that’s what they were going for. Chill. You could probably pull this off at the next PTA meeting as long as no one sat too close behind you. But if you want someone to recognize you in a crowd of people, this shirt isn’t the one for you. But it’s chill. Into it. And of course, it’s a recent reprint.

Oh man, gbhpunk1 has got the auction for you young ‘uns. This one is perfect. A little bit of every corner. Black Flag, Youth Brigade (Cali), 7 Seconds, Banner Of Hope … Even some metal with Megadeth. Someone clue me in on who Vanilla Muffin is? Sounds delicious. This lot is super cheap with less than a day to go. The Black Flag shirt ALONE is worth the price of this auction. Feelin it (not feeling the sheets. Little too Wild Style for me).

Black Flag, Since 1833

Oh goodstufff, you need to do your homework a little better. This one pains me. It appears that goodstufff is selling a Black Flag tee as if it was a Black Flag tee. Which it is, but sadly, it’s not that Black Flag. Instead of Dez, they have roach motels. Instead of Greg, they have roach killing chalk. And instead of Hank, they have Backyard Fogger, Twin Pack! Sigh. At least his write up is entertaining, even if it’s 100% misguided and uninformed. Sigh.

To put this into perspective, one of my co-workers owns a Black Flag tshirt. Black with yellow ink, much like Black Flag’s standard logo. Granted, the one being sold is 20+ years old, but since the company is over 170 years old, that might not get you very far at the local 4H show.

pusssywhipped is selling one of my favorite BF shirt designs. “In My Head” may not be my favorite Black Falg record but man did it make some great shirts! The seller says this is from 1985 In My Head tour but doesnt include a picture of the back of the shirt which should say “86 Tour In My Head”. Wrong tour year and no back pics So take that for what its worth. The tag is consistant with tour shirts from that time. Same Brand and type. Maybe just an old BF shirt but not a tour shirt? Check the auction for other blurrier pics
Either way this thing rules!

Loose Nut > Gaga

The other day, I posted a Lady Gaga x Black Flag tee. It was even more heinous than the Tegan & Sara X Black Flag tee. But some of the people I consider a friend spoke up in defense of the Gaga tee. I’m reconsidering those friendships, fear not. Lady Gaga is vapid pop music. I can stand behind her stance on the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” issue, but what else is she offering? Black Flag was groundbreaking and more than just Six Packs. Punks with attitude. In that regards, it’s only appropriate that I post up a few pallet cleaning Loose Nut tees. Enjoy.

Interestingly, bukk1972ake has the same loose nut shirt up twice. One here as an auction and one here as a BIN. Same shirt, different auctions. Very odd.
