Kinda Bobo? No, Super Bobo.

ragingbull20 has up an … interesting shirt. I <3 Hardcore? Oooofff. Battery has there share of weirdo tees, but I’m seriously hoping this one is a bootleg. Someone please tell me this is a bootleg. Martin? C’mon on, come through for me on this one. I’m guessing this one dropped at the same time all those skate companies were releasing there “I <3 PIGS” tees. Pretty sure this is the same font even. Yikes. Screen Stars Best black tag longsleeve … might not be bootleg. Oh jeez.

Battery Drug Free Youth shirt

Here is a Battery shirt that seller onmysidex is unsure about. I am going to go out on a limb and say that it is original because no one would bootleg a Battery shirt. I don’t think. Have I mentioned lately that I hate racing stripes on shirts? These may not be racing stripes, but I have to draw the line somewhere.

Underwhelming Battery Hood

Correct me if I’m wrong, but is this one of the most underwhelming hoods ever produced? Battery is cool, and we have seen plenty of GREAT Battery merch lately, but this one is pretty blah. It’s old, no doubt. Mid 90s certainly. And somehow it managed to escape belly button / kidney print. But even that can’t help it. It’s just missing something. Something a little more “in your face.” Granted, this hood from blastbeatx would be greatly improved with two words, “Straight Edge.” Yeah, you be the judge.

Battery Youth Crew ’95

Hey now! Great looking Battery tee. Real sharp font on the front, strong images on the back. Great shirt. And 95 was WAY before that 2nd LP dropped. Yeah … Can we get an opinion from Martin Castro on this one? I’ve honestly never seen this shirt from x614x before. It’s definitely not from the normal crop of Battery tees we normally see up on ebay. Very, very interesting. Do you know Martin? Dude’s got some stories. And you should be reading them. Make sure to follow his blog. It’s a must read.

Battery fans in da house?

Do you think that the one guy who spoke up in defense of Ignite will also stand up for Battery? Battery has as not stood the test of time for me, how about you?

Wizard Sleeves! Battery Edition

I’d be truly shocked if the shirt driada_ifni is selling is NOT a piece of euro tour merch. Seriously. Wizard Sleeves. 1996. Amazing. Until The End (of the sleeves).

Only The No Fun Remain

When Bane recorded Give Blood, we packed a bunch of dudes into a 15 passenger van and drove down to DC. At the time, I was just barely 25 so it was touch and go on whether I could rent it or not. We finally secured the vehicle, rounded everyone in Worcester up, and made the drive.

Lets see if I can remember everyone who made the trip (if I forgot anyone, let me know).

AJ
Cushman
Spaulding
Jeremy
Lou
Beshaw
Hudson
Tre
Big Bob
Myself

People I forgot. Whoops.

Jim C
Seth
E. Mitch

Great ride. I drove the whole way as the rental place wouldn’t have it any other way. Down and back. We broke out late at night and didn’t arrive in DC until the very morning. It was still too early for backup vocals so we hit the local indoor pool.

Not everyone brought shorts. In fact, Lou only had white boxes. Now if you don’t know Lou (from Barrit and The Swarm and …), he’s really, really, really brown. Wet white boxers + brown dude = many unhappy parents. He was asked politely by the pool staff to leave.

Not everyone was down for swimming and in van football. We called them “No Fun.” Cough … Tre … Cough. Lots of shenanigans went down in that van. Lots.

So we rolled back to the studio and were getting ready for backups. Of course, lots of horse play going on in the booth. LOTS.

At one point, Brian Mcternan (I bet you were wondering how’d I work Battery into this, weren’t you?) had to scold us a few times. He even singled Lou out for being too rambunctious.

“Cut it out, dude.”

“Whatever, Brian McDickhead.”

“You know I can hear you, right?”

LOL. These are the times we’ll remember!

Whatever It Takes

First, Happy Birthday to Mr Chris Casali. All around great dude. Everyone make sure to wish him a happy bday (you can hit him up at @collectionspace if you want).

He loves Battery. Not nearly as much as Barrow or Blair though.

And not sure anyone loved this era Battery as much as Blair. The second lp left me feeling …

Crap Back and Pit Stains

We saw a very similar Battery shirt last weekend.

Except

That shirt had a cool back print.
That shirt didn’t have pit stains.

One of these is remediable, the other, not so much.

It’s funny how this shirt will probably sell for pennies on the dollar, when literally all it would take is pennies worth of under the sink items to clean it up. Could turn an $11 shirt into a $35 shirt. Sadly, that back print doesn’t have kids chomping at the bit.

Battery Tees

I saw Battery a few times back in the day.

It was always a good time.

Best time? Probably that Valentines Day gig in Boston with Reach The Sky, Piebald and Bane. Great, great, great show.

After they released that second LP, they sort of flopped. After that LP, the only person who still seemed into them was Blair. He still backed them. No one else did.

This tshirt is a good example of a terrible front with a good knock off on the back (notice the grandfathered Step Forward Records “Drug Free”).

This one, I’m into. US Tour 97.
