Foundation last year

Well lets all rewind to 2011, I know I’m asking a lot for some people. Foundation headed out on a European tour and seller unitedblood was able to pick up this hoodie. Along for the ride was their fellow label mates on Bridge nine, Expire. I love how the green pops against the sweatshirt. It reminds me of the lime in the rainbow sherbet that I’m eating right now.
The seller has a few other items up for sale and if you’re going to pay the shipping you might as well get something else!

Out Crowd Atlanta

There was only one band at United Blood that I wanted to see and it was Out Crowd. I was bummed out that I missed them and I heard they had a killer set. Stan is one of my good friends and one of my favorite shirt trading buddies. I wish they would play up here so I can see them! Seller chillerthanmosttt got this through a pre-order package so buy this and be the coolest person on the block.
Ps… someone should tell or trade me the Out Crowd Killer Beer shirt!!

Tis The Season For Prayer …

.. or so I’m told. Christmas is just one of those holy times of the year. People love to pray during this period. I don’t get down with praying, but I suppose, if I was to do some praying, it would be towards This Is Hardcore and the hopes that this excellent event continues for years. #realtalk. Awesome event. If you haven’t gone ever, do yourself a favor and go this year. It’s sure to be loaded with a ton of great bands, you’ll see friends you hardly ever see, and much merry making will occur. How can you say no to that? introxchanges didn’t say no. He went to This Is Hardcore one year, and grabbed this fantastic Foundation (another band impossible to find on ebay) shirt. Good pick up. Maroon is a good look.

ATL History Lesson

Good morning. School is back in session and this Foundation tanktop from protectxyaneck is an excellent opportunity for a history lesson. Today’s topic: Atlanta, GA.

The shirt below depicts the seal of Atlanta (which is actually a trademarked graphic …). The wording says “1847 RESURGENS 1865.” The first number is a date. This would be the year 1847. During this year, Atlanta becomes incorporated as a city. It was already a bustling place, but in that year, it officially became Atlanta. 1865 was the re-beginning of Atlanta. You see, in the fall of 1864, Atlanta was besieged by the Union Army. It was fierce and lasted a long time. And for some reason, General Hood of the Confederate Army decided that upon evacuating the city that every public building and potential asset to the Union force should be torched. That lead to large fires all over the city as the Northern forces entered town. Not good, not good at all. But 1865 is the year that the city began to rebuild. Hence the motto RESURGENS. This would be Latin for “Rise Again” or “Rising Again.” Even with the torched buildings, Atlanta rebuilt and came back strong. Today, the city is possibly the most sprawling city on the east coast and likely has the worst traffic anywhere. But it’s a marvelous city on the up swing. Rise Again!

Foundation

Have you ever searched ebay for Foundation tshirts? It’s hard. When you simply type in Foundation, you get a mess of results (90k+ results). If you over specify, you get nothing. It’s quite frustrating. But that’s why I’m happy I stumbled across these auctions from Atlanta resident stopsrust. It’s like a Foundation bonanaza. Lots of great tees. Now step back, I’m winning some of these. Of course, you can always just go over to Six Feet Under Records and get tees straight from the band & label. Smooth move, exlax.

Pray For Atlanta

A few months back, Foundation was touring on their Pray For Atlanta tour. Not sure if the tour was named that, but it sure sounds like a good idea. For a while, bigcartel had a slew of these shirts up. If you didn’t buy them then, you missed out. If you are an XL, 123kearston has got your crack. And if you prefer to Pray For America, bigcartel has your back. If you don’t prefer to pray at all, I’d suggest a wonderful Deicide, Immolation or Cradle Of Filth shirt?

Does it look familiar to you?

It should. One of the earliest Foundation tees featured this same picture. This was the Foundation tee for the local Worcester label, Eightfold Path Records. She only did a few releases, but most of them were gems (Foundation, I Rise, Youth Attack DVD, …).

Apparently Have Heart or the designer was into the pic (which is pretty classic, don’t get me wrong) and screened up their own tee. Granted, the Foundation shirt was a little more posi. But I’ll take it.

Foundation Heartless

I’m a big fan of Foundation.

Straight out of ATL, once passing under the radar, they really seem to be getting their shine lately. Good for them.

I’m also a big fan of not obnoxious shirts.

This is one of those not obnoxious shirts. It’s a real simple design with a great color scheme. Grey tee, purple ink. That’s just ONE color ink. No sharks with lasers, thousands of nickels stacked on top of fairy princesses or dinosaurs eating ice cream cones. Just some crooked-like font and a plain picture. Would be better if it was a live shot with some X’ed up bros, but hey, I’ll take what I can get.
